Cause I had no idea Well no one will ever confirm any of this officially but it's basically 1+1. WW84 was a complete disaster. It flopped, which OK that was the very first film to be released in theaters during the height of the pandemic (December 2020). Basically everyone will give it a pass even though it lost money (only grossed 169 million WW). But the real damage was the reception and quality of the film. When the first reviews came out, it was in the 80s in Rotten Tomatoes, so everyone was happy, but then... the film was officially release and that score plummeted (58%, rotten). And then everybody dragged the movie: The script. The villains being basically TV quality performances. Gal's acting. The fact that she basically r-word a guy. The lack of action. The CGI on Cheetah. No big fight, just a speech on love (WHICH btw it is very hypocritical, because Dr. Strange MoM basically pulled the same move). It was really a big flop on all aspects. By the time WW84 was released, all those other projects (their Cleopatra film at Universal with Jenkins directing and Gadot starring, and Jenkins was supposed to direct a Star Wars movie for Disney) were already announced. Fast forwards to today, and Disney removed the SW movie from their schedule. As for Cleopatra, the last thing we knew (back in June) is that Jenkins was not gonna direct, just produce, Paramount had dropped the film and Universal was considering it but there were/are no deals, so it is safe to assume it is now cancelled. Gadot is not really working right now, the two films she did after WW84 were already in production(pre) before that film was released: Death on the Nile and Red Notice. Her only two other films are in post right now: Snow White (for Disney) and another Netflix movie, so we'll see. As for Jenkins, well she hasn't done anything since WW84 So it is pretty safe to say that the bad reception of WW84 practically torpedoed most of what they had lined up and they are not able to book new work.
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 I thought james Gunn was gonna save.. Oh lord

Johnny Jacobs Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) If they touch Robert's Batman i swear to Lucifer They need to ditch everything else and start fresh with Matt Reeves world and center all the others around it Edited December 8, 2022 by Johnny Jacobs

How is this “aN L fOr dC” when Gunn is doing this to reset and revive the brand? Like It’s an L for DC because it’s them literally admitting to having a failed Cinematic universe. What they themselves have been saying they were building since 2013. Also being in a financial deficit with thier films, Axed trilogies and sequels, tax write offs for plan films, and not meeting thier fisical year quota for DC films studios
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Yet Ezra is still in? Not him also ditching the witcher and making a big announcement just to be a cameo on the flop black adam
futurenostalgic Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 This is ******* hilarious cavill is the one taking L after L
Guest Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 He should've never left The Witcher, I'm quite sure Netflix would've done what it takes to get him stay on board. Now he has nothing, no marvel, no dc, no netflix.
BowWow Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 He does look more like lobo. Give aquaman 5 years or so to breath then restart it with a new cast new storyline new everything

Same for WW and the rest of them. Get them in their 20s and make them superstars through the franchise and you can get a solid like 20 years from them. Casting actors in their 30s is a risk cuz by the time like the third film comes they are like in their late 40s and early 50s and it starts to look ridiculous at some point. At this point I'm like, grab the dude who played Elvis or Will Poulter. Dye their hair black, bulk them up and throw a cape on them. I mean come on, let's go already. Write a good script. I need another live action Superman movie. It's been 84 years. Edited December 8, 2022 by JustLikeHoney
GraceRandolph Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 They should make Lobo a TV show. A Lobo movie will flop.
BowWow Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 He can’t act so good all he does is be the stereotype of an attractive white guy with broad shoulders and dark hair. And even then he hasn’t broke through as a leading man
Alina M Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Can they just cancel DC movie franchise already
Terrielle Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Good. Recast all of the Justice League cause none of them is a good fit. Jason looks like a good fit for Lobo.
Zaynsus Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 It's a shame, really. The first movie did great and he was a good Aquaman...
zoldyck Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 First movie was really amazing and established what female lead in comic book movie should be like. But they ruined the character with justice league and that sequel. Wanda stole the crown of being IT female character from comic book movies
GraceRandolph Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Looks like Grace was right. RIP Snyderverse.
Gui Blackout Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 If there's one thing DC got right over the years was his casting, same with Gal and Margot. They're the only good thing about the DCU keep digging that grave I guess
Gui Blackout Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 But The Flash starring that crackhead is moving foward?
