It's okay to be girly, I think this video is just a reminder to make sure you're doing it for the right reasons. Don't throw away your personality/ambition, especially to become some guy's object.

 

If you wanna be a girly girl, she's not saying to not do that, it's when you start doing different things to be pretty and to attract guys' attention. Just be yourself, strong and independent. Don't dress, act or look a certain way for other people

The song's message was certainly misguided and did age like iceberg lettuce, but in context I don't think SG was inherently anti-feminist. It's well-produced and I love the chorus melody especially. Wish IND / Funhouse / TTAL Alecia stuck around permanently.
