Gwen is singing MY heart wants what it wants while Selena sang THE heart wants what it wants. 

 

plus the line about shining stars is slightly different. NO ONE can tell me, that Salina didn't put her heart and soul into crafting this song!!!!!11!

I love Gwen but Selena kind of bodied this song, one of her best if you ask me 

So the rumor i've heard this song for a while now is that Gwen actually co-wrote on it, but when Selena wanted it, the label basically bought the rights to the song to be able to take her name off of the credits so that they could it seem more personal to Selena. No idea how true that is.

I used to think this song was a snoozefest but Gwen brings it to life 100%

I’m sorry but Gwen ate Selena up here. The production is perfectly fit as a follow up to her classic ballads with a No Doubt twist. 
 

i’m seeing a pattern that all the selena’s songs I like were meant to artists that I love ? charli bodied the rare and same old love demos too. now I’m just wondering who bad liar was supposed to be for. last one standing lmao

i like it for both artists. it's just a good song. the lyrics are slightly different from Selena's, it's also missing a harmony

I love Gwen but this was not it for me. The rumour I heard was that this song was sat on from Stars Dance for a while so maybe it was shopped around. Damage control!
