Swifties are so annoying dragging their fave into conversations that have nothing to do with her. You can discuss her concert in her own threads, thank you

In no way is he hinting he has an interest in same sex. He just wishes not to be labelled like half the LGBTQ+ community doesn’t want to be either.

I need you to re-read these two sentences together again.

You are saying he is not hinting at being anything other than straight. That is literally your first sentence. But then you say he doesn't want to be labeled. Not labeled as WHAT? What is there to label himself as other than straight/heterosexual, if he has NO INTEREST in the same sex, again, your exact words? The other people you use as an example to not want to be labeled are not straight and are therefore are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. And he is not. Again, in your exact words. So THEN the questions remains, WHY does he not want to be labelled as straight if he not attracted to the same sex? Could it BE that he wants the plausible deniability of co-opting queer aesthetics and ideas WITHOUT being called out for not being a part of that community? Could it BE that he wants the benefits of being a part of the queer community without any of the negatives? :) :)

Think about the end result of your arguments. What is the purpose of Harry not wanting to label himself if there is no reason to do so as he has no attraction to the same sex? Why would he want to "not label" himself, something done by others who directly view their sexuality as fluid, if his sexuality is not. What would the benefits of doing so be for him in his career?

NOT TO MENTION, your points are contradicting yourself. If he does not want to be labeled as straight, despite in your own words literally being straight, HOW does this "allow men to be themselves and instead expecting them to behave under stereotypically masculine behaviours"? Again, an exact quote from you. WOULD IT NOT be infinitely more impactful to do the things he does while calling himself straight? And therefore proving an example of exactly what you just described? IS IT NOT a better argument to show the expansive opportunities of heterosexual men to want to express themselves while not being viewed as anything other than heterosexual? Is that not your argument for the end goal?

So you’re saying that all people who choose not to label themselves can’t be attracted to one sex? :rip:

That’s your argument? Just because someone doesn’t choose to label themselves doesn’t mean they’re LGBTQ+.

Being LGBTQ+ is literally labelling yourself :skull:

There can be people who are same sex attracted that don’t identify under a label. It’s not rocket science.

He is interested in the opposite sex but doesn’t choose to label himself straight. That’s all it is and that, once again, is not queerbating.

And your last quote misses the point entirely. It was an example of how he literally didn’t give a f*** and often wore nail polish and did all the things that apparently you consider “queerbating”.

So in your own words he was was queerbating prior to being famous :rip:

There was a thread on here ages ago with photos of him pre-fame, wearing female orientated outfits at parties etc, nail polish etc.

You know, all the stuff people claim he did only post fame. I don’t really follow Harry except when I’m on here, but the fact that all these men are accused of queerbating for the dumbest stuff is just so stupid :rip:

And also, none of this lengthy argument ever points towards Harry queerbating. By definition, it’s when you allude to LGBTQ+ relationships or identity, but he has never done that :rip: He’s always dated females.

You’re basically saying that if someone doesn’t choose to label themselves as straight, they’re queerbating. But he could literally be asexual for all we know. There’s *so many* things other than gay or bi that he could be.

Look at the Kit incident? Boy who didn’t feel comfortable labelling himself being forced by public pressure to come out because of queerbating accusations.

We simply do not know, and you’re saying absence of knowing is knowing therefore it’s okay to accuse. There’s multiple things wrong with accusing someone of queerbating. Especially when he’s not going around and alluding to same sex relationships.

He literally just likes wearing gender bending clothing, which I’m sorry to say, is not owned by “queers”. Anyone can. Society is the one that enforces gender stereotypes, people breaking them isn’t owned by the LGBTQ+ community.

The moment Harry starts queerbating as per the definition, you can accuse all you want.

Hoooo boy there is a lot to unpack here :rip:

I'm again approaching your comments as them being in good faith, as you seem grossly uneducated on this topic in general, and on the discussions around Harry specifically regarding this topic.

Let's begin:

6 hours ago, gloamingtheplain said:

No, the opposite sex. Again, you are not following your arguments to their conclusions. WHY would a straight person not want to label themselves as straight? Answer that for yourself. What is the goal?

To do this, ask yourself why do non-straight people not want to label themselves? What is their goal? Is it because they do not view sexuality as a binary, or see their sexuality as fluid and changing, or that they believe they fit into multiple labels? Which is not the extent of the reasons, all of which are valid. But then WHY would a person whose sexuality is NOT fluid, who has NO attraction to anyone except the opposite sex, and is NOT a part of any queer LGBTQIA+ community, identity, or ethos, want to "not label themselves?" Follow your arguments to their conclusions.

Again, see above. WHAT REASON is there for purely heterosexual people to follow non-heterosexual people in not wanting a label?

Girl. You are insulting yourself by putting these two sentences back to back. Read what you write. There is no logical reason for a straight person to feel the need to not label themselves as straight. Because there is literally only one possible description for their sexuality. Follow your own logic.

I didn't touch on this in my past comments, but I will here. WHY do Harry stans always go back to the clothes and nail polish? This has NOTHING to do with that. This is about his words, and the more importantly, the lack of them in response to ANY clarity surrounding his sexuality. You are refusing to evaluate WHY people have a problem with this.

This is a wonderful time to bring up a little ditty called Medicine, an unreleased song Harry stans chuck at people when, funnily enough, they try to do the exact OPPOSITE thing you are doing, which is prove that he is NOT straight:

Quote

The boys and the girls are in
I mess around with them
And I'm okay with it (Oh-ah)

This is a direct insinuation of same-sex attraction.

Sis :rip: What's the "A" in LGBTQIA+ stand for? :rip: You are further proving you are throwing things at the wall without following your arguments to their conclusions.

...you are DIRECTLY contradicting your own argument. Is is attracted to people other than the opposite sex or not? What is astounding is you are LITERALLY proving my point, in now arguing he could be something OTHER than straight despite literally yourself stating he is straight. How do you not get this?

This is literally the point of his vagueness, and is the direct goal of queer baiting, which yes, he is doing. For marketing purposes. To provide intrigue around his persons. To make money. THIS is the critique at the center of the argument. Is has NOTHING to do with the idea of "not labeling" a person's sexuality, and it has NOTHING to do with clothing or atypical gender expression.

Anecdotally, I've have had numerous friends believe Harry has called himself bisexual when he is brought up in conversation. Like, they're surprised when I tell them this is not true. This is his goal. Which, again, is anecdotal, but is also a direct real life example of why is doing this. And they mentioned nothing about thinking he was bisexual due to his ~nail polish~, they literally thought he had said so. Vagueness. Plausible deniability. Marketing. Money. Follow your arguments to their conclusions.

Again, are you suggesting Harry is straight or not? What is your central thesis?

It actually most certainly ******* is, and you can sit down right now with this nonsense argument :rip: Harry is directly in debt to the generations of queer and trans people who have fought for their rights to express their identities. You are literally proving my point. He wants all of the benefits that have been fought by queer people without any of the hard work of contributing to it.
