All Cops Are Bastards, pass it on. :cm:

The pigs were definitely butthurt that a local unpaid untrained unarmed hero showed them up and stopped the shooting and that they didn’t get more time to sit outside wearing their bulletproof vests eating donuts while more queer people got massacred

So now the shooter's lawyers are claiming he "identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns" in order to avoid being charged with a hate crime.  Truly disgusting and a mockery to the victims.  Hopefully they throw the book at him and give him a maximum sentence.

that's crazy if him suddenly declaring himself non-binary will prevent him from getting a stiff sentence.  That sets a very bad precedence moving forward.

I mean murdering a bunch of people shouldn't be something that carries a light sentence, hate crime or otherwise... Anyways any mass murder like this is motivated by hate is it not, whether it's gender or racially driven hate, or hate driven by something else?

He still murdered five people. That’s life in prison no matter what.

And after all that nothing will be done to stop something like this from happening again.

For the broader anti-LGBTQ movement, it means you won’t be able properly identify attacks on our community as hate crimes and they won’t be taken as seriously. It won’t affect his sentence, but if attacks can be written off as mental illness within our own community rather than hate crimes, there’s less urgency for us to be given equal protection at a time when rights in general are backsliding under our current Supreme Court.

But it has to be the attorney's scheme now. If all cops are bastards then so are lawyers.

I am sure the lawyers have a way of proving if the shooter was or wasn't non binary e.g by how a person refers to themselves online.

They released the doorbell camera footage of his arrest last year and he was saying "come get ya boy" or something similar. I have a feeling that may be brought up.

It's really sad that one night you wanna go out and have fun with your gay friends and may end up being murdered by one piece of trash just because he can't mind his business, horrible.

They’ll say he started using it after.

That was a year ago..he could argue any given time after that is when he “realized” he was non-binary. We’re in a time of allowing anyone to self identify as anything and it’s been dangerous/questionable but now we’re about to see exactly why.

Yall and this pandering to fascists are why people like us get murdered. Self-idenfication of gender is not dangerous. Hatred of LGBT people is. What the honest **** is wrong with you?

Let alone this isn't some genius scheme. Hate crime rulings are legally dependant on the documented bias and intention to harm a specific marginalized group. There is little relevance of the person's own identity. That this is likely some trolling effort shows how inept and toothless conservatism as an ideology is.

Someone who is Hispanic can commit a race-based hate crime against other Hispanic peopoe. The designation of a hate crime falls in the motives of the criminal act, not some fragment of their alleged identity.

What is wrong with you? Everytime you respond to someone you rant, use expletives and throw little personal jabs. You’re clearly unhinged and would do well with some time away from the twitter/internet.

You're posting in a thread about a shot up gay club ranting about the dangers of trans people. Trust me, me telling you about yourself is far more polite and kind than you deserve. I suggest detoxing from whatever right-wing media you constantly consume that made you decide in the first place that some edgy hot take about gender identity was appropriate.

5 people are dead and you think the thing to take away from that is that being trans should require some kind of transmedicalist proof while the people who cheered on and caused this mass murder want to deny trans people the right to even physically transition at all. Touch grass, I beg you. Worried about "jabs" when you're being a transphobic bigot :deadbanana4:

The death penalty is infinitely more expensive than life in prison. And morally the death penalty shouldn’t even exist.

We’ve gone over this with you when the Parkland shooter decision took place.

Yeah? Well i'm not convinced. He killed 5 people, he's guilty 1000000%, he deserves the death penalty end of story as far as im concerned. They can make exceptions for obvious mass murderers.
