McNulty Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Quote Quentin Tarantino has named “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” his best movie ever made. The director was asked to pick his best by Howard Stern during a visit on the radio host’s SiriusXM show. “Hollywood” is Tarantino’s most recent directorial feature. Released in 2019, the film starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as actors struggling to find their place in the changing Hollywood of 1969. Margot Robbie also starred as Sharon Tate. “For years people used to ask me stuff like that,” Tarantino said about being asked to pick his best movie. “And I would say something like, ‘Oh, they’re all my children.’ I really do think ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is my best movie.” “Even though the ‘80s was the time that I probably saw more movies in my life than ever – at least as far as going out to the movies was concerned – I do feel that ‘80s cinema is, along with the ‘50s, the worst era in Hollywood history,” Tarantino recently said on his “The Video Archives Podcast” (via NME). “Matched only by now, matched only by the current era!” https://variety.com/2022/film/news/quentin-tarantino-once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-best-movie-1235434456/ Do you agree?
vale9001 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Can be the movie he prefers. I can understand it. His best movie for us? No.
nathanspears Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 It was so boring. I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch it twice. I can't stand these types of films.
Oxy Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Of course he’s going to say that about the fans least favorite. Kill Bill, Django, Pulp Fiction, and Inglorious Bastards.
okgo Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Good for him but it's not even in my top 5 of his films
Brando Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I feel like you need to know all the ins and outs of classic Hollywood movies to understand that film. For a casual viewer it was a total bore that didn't make any sense
Relampago. Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 This movie was so boring until the last 15 minutes
Kimi Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) not even top 5 Edited November 17, 2022 by Kimi
zasderfght Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Once Upon a Time is a strong contender. Not surprised people on here found it boring. It seems like the people on here like fast-paced entertainment (i.g. fast-paced movies/fast "bops," if we're talking music). Nothing wrong with that; it's just something I've noticed. However, Pulp Fiction is probably my favorite QT movie. I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, or Django Unchained, though.
Pierrot Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 He's 100% correct. Easiest way to filter someone's movie opinion is to not listen to anyone who thinks this movie is bad or one of his worst. Sorry to you all.
MadonnasBoyfriend Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 They always say the latest is the greatest... I'd love to see the 5 hour version in the vaults
livelikemusic Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Not when the two volumes of Kill Bill exist.
Gui Blackout Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 It's in the top 3 for sure. But I can see why it is for him. It's his most personal movie, about the era that he loves in LA and Hollywood.
Uncatena Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 its fine, the ending SLAPS but Kill Bill >>>
truthteller Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 i mean it's a love letter to old times hollywood with a wholesome twist.... what's not to love about that... Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction >>>>> tho
Puttanesca Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 It's literally an ode to classic Hollywood. Of course he'd say that.
