Breathe On Moi Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I can honestly say I’ve heard only one of these albums so my choice is already made, and let’s be real I don’t need to listen to other, like stop. the answer is obvious. With that said- the most recent disrespect- let’s vote and decide which is MORE quality of the last two release from these two pioneering women. Which is the correct answer? Caution- Midnights-

PoisonedIvy Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 You made this thread with the intent of not having a discussion at all. You could have just posted this in your Mariah base. Caution is about Mariah’s… eighth best album. Midnights is about Taylor’s sixth best. They both have a really high tier discography for the most part, with only 2 real duds. I think Midnights has a lot more going for it than Caution does, but Caution is definitely a step in the right direction for Mimi. I look forward to her next album!
suburbannature Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Caution, sweetie. Her exploration with alt-R&B in songs like Giving Me Life, 8th Grade, and The Distance is far more interesting than anything on Midnights Edited November 5, 2022 by suburbannature
ultraviolence.xx Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 cmon now................ caution eviscerates its competition lets be real
CottageHore Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Caution >>> and to think this was released 30 years into her car? Most pop girls, guys, and theys can only dream. Caution is a short and sweet cohesive masterpiece with no filler. Even though Mariah’s vocals aren’t what they used to be, she still serves more vocal prowess than Taylor and that’s okay! Midnights is a great album, but Caution has no filler and is top tier. Mimi’s second best album!

I still play GML on the daily but this just reminded me that I need to give 8th Slay a stream today. It was my most played Mariah track of 2019

?????? Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Both Lamb and Swiftie here, went with Caution, simply because it was really unexpected of Mariah to be coming back with sultry, more subdued R&B bops that aren't desperate to show her vocal chops after the ME!ss that is MIAMTECXYZ. Midnights is a legacy in its own right, but in terms of sound, just a mix of 1989, lover, folkmore, and evermore, so it was well within Taylor's realm. The vocals comparison is also kinda unfair, like they have vastly different vocal ranges and stylings. In terms of quality tho, it's pretty subjective, but Midnights win in terms of songwriting, I'd say production and everything goes to Caution.
GoatGly Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Caution is one of Mariah’s worst albums so Midnights for both
Kiss It Better Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 what a random comparison Mariah sweetie
