Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) Basically James Gunn will be the Kevin Fiege of DC moving Foward Edited October 25, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9
Arcadius Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 I mean he gave DC two of their most acclaimed projects all within the last year. However, his style is so specific to just him I can’t imagine how he’d try and run DC as a whole.
mathekr Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Whoa this is big. Maybe there is hope for DC after all
XAMJ Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 he is too niche for mainstream audiences. gaurdians had the marvel machine behind him but after that he has been a flop
TaylorNation Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 good luck with that, imagine being hired to steer the Titanic
KFC Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Not sure if this is good or not. Peacemaker was decent but was so James Gunn'd. I hope he can oversee projects without his signature style
Hephaestus Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Big news, but I don't know if they'll be able to save the DCEU. I don't know if anyone can at this point, really.
X~MoviePoP Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He ruined suicide squad. Comedic hero movies r trash. Make matt reeves the ceo of dc
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 25, 2022 Author Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) Yeah the DCEU failed multiple times. I mean when your aquaman and wonder women film are more profitable and critically acclaimed than your Superman and Justice League films?then you know you messed up. But at least they seem to be making better movies with the branding and the Rock’s commitment and fan engagement. Cool Superman is back and all but Ezra and Amber heard stuff ruin them for the general public. Not even comparing it to marvel cuz it ain’t even fair, but DC is just lacking any real relevance or excitement. Edited October 25, 2022 by Gorjesspazze9
Khal Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 The Suicide Squad was still shite (just less **** than the previous one, though it'd literally have to be someone taking a **** on screen for it to be worse) so basically they're handing over the keys to DC to him on the strength of Peacemaker. Okay I guess
Mikeymoonshine Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 He's made the best DC projects so far and TSS only flopped so hard because of covid so I'm pleased with this. The snyder fans will be furious tho.
Eóghan Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Good. No more serious dark super hero movie. Give us comical Rated R universe.
fridayteenage Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Budget$185 million Box office$168.7 million whew!
Katy V.! Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Honestly he does sound like the best short-term option for what they wanted to do and he's the least likely to get backlash from fanboys and the media.
Bloodflowers. Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 luv John Cena's Suicide Squad after seeing in on HBO Max, so I have high hopes I still want Dark DC universe tho
futurenostalgic Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Just focus on animation tbh. Hasnt that been DC’s strongest part? but they need to be super strict about finding the right directors for live action. not the tacky Gunn style. they should poach the Safdie brothers. (matt reeves boring ass pen is more than enough)
Oxy Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 People here thinking he will direct every movie He and Safran both will oversee the projects and how they tie in together while keeping it cohesive. Gunn does the perfect blend of dark and colorful themes, also he’s a die hard comic nerd and knows his assignment.
