Hector Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) An official press release about the forthcoming documentary says the film will explore “the journey of a trailblazing superstar who has become the movement the world desperately needed just by being herself. The HBO Max documentary shares the inspirational story behind her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise with an intimate look into the moments that shaped her hard-earned rise to fame, success, love and international stardom.” Lizzo shared in a press statement, “Growing up I never dreamed I’d get to experience all of the things I’ve accomplished in my life, and I’m just getting started. I’m so excited I get to share and relive my journey with my fans and HBO Max. From Cuz I Love You to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album Special, y’all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process. It takes 10 years to become an ‘overnight success,’ and hopefully I can inspire other young creatives to keep going.” Perched, this will be interesting. Fresh from winning an Emmy last month! Mellark Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 (edited) Just finished watching it. It is a beautiful documentary and really talks about her life and I was able to learn more about Lizzo as a person. She is very humble and down to earth. I think she is giving a platform towards people of size which includes plus-sized black women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people etc. I think her show Watch Out for The Big Grrls on Prime Video (Emmy award winning, by the way) really displays an opportunity for plus-sized women to showcase their talents without them being treated as a joke or a stereotype and be themselves. I think if you are curious to know about the making of Special, it's has some cute gems in there where she works with the producers. I am glad Lizzo is finding love. The way some of the songs on Special are about Myke which is cute. Edited November 24, 2022 by Mellark
