chosensparkles Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 y'all expected some kind of high brow Christmas drama? it's a romcom cheap Netflix movie the goal is not for Lindsay to win an Oscar for it but to bring her back into the spotlight and be the vehicle for her to book bigger movies in the end
Gossip_Boy Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 This is doing rather well given we’re only in mid-November. Personally, I probably won’t watch it since this type of films are not my thing but I hope it’s a success for Lindsay.
okgo Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) Oh no Netflix is about to have Lindsay do these crappy movies they drop on Thursdays forever, we need to free our sis https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/11/lindsay-lohan-netflix-christmas-movie "Will that phase include a dozen more holiday rom-coms? If you’re working at Netflix, you may very well be hoping the answer is yes." Edited November 16, 2022 by okgo
FunCoric Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I'm sorry, im happy she's healthy and everything but damn, her acting was giving adison rae in he's all that, really really bad. terrible movie
Taylucifer Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 at least this is better than Netflix’s holiday movie last year with Vanessa Let It Snow (2019) will remain as Netflix’s best holiday movie i guess
exfactor003 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 very dumb and goofy movie, but I enjoyed it. Tan is smoking hot.
Katy V.! Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Yeah, this is bad. But I'm glad to see Lindsay backnon her game (and succeeding at that!!!) A bit triggering to watch Chord Overstreet play a dad, tbh.
J Legend X Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 lets not pretend Lindsay was at the peak of her career doing oscar nominate films... so get over it..

I loved Prairie's campaign need Lindsay doing more cute movies like that (no need to be so Oscar baity tho, just projects with more quality than the average Netflix romcom/thriller) she should actually take on more supporting roles, I think she could book bigger projects if she did but idk if she wants that + prob wouldn't pay as well as Netflix then again Vanessa booked Tick Tick Boom after Princess Switch right? SelenaGomez<3 Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 She did great and the movie is doing great WW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lindsay and Chord had zero chemistry, and it was so Hallmark’d. Tbh it was beneath Lindsay who has done so many cute, cheesy movies that are actually enjoyable.

Lindsay and Chord had zero chemistry, and it was so Hallmark’d. Tbh it was beneath Lindsay who has done so many cute, cheesy movies that are actually enjoyable. It was Hallmark'd because the team behind it is literally from Hallmark. I think this review put it perfectly imo: https://www.theringer.com/movies/2022/11/11/23453098/lindsay-lohan-falling-for-christmas-netflix-comeback Falling for Christmas is not the first attempt at a Hollywood comeback for Lindsay Lohan, but it is the most humble. It would be easy for someone who was once so revered for her natural charisma and talent to want to make her return in a vehicle that promises Oscar consideration; a vehicle that doesn’t ask her to share an emotional scene with a snowglobe. But by not trying to prove too much, Lohan proves plenty. In Falling for Christmas, when she sweetly cries to a horse named Balthazar that she can’t do anything right, it’s just nice to see she’s still got the spark—even if “the spark” in this case is “nice chemistry with a horse.” They say good comedy is even harder than good drama, but perhaps nothing is more difficult than bringing life to a made-for-TV movie with a four-figure location budget and a mandatory no-visible-collarbones rule. In playing a spoiled hotel heiress who doesn’t know what to do with her life, there is a pleasant self-awareness floating through Lohan’s performance that also never feels too try-hard. Lohan isn’t aiming to subvert the infamous mythology that’s grown around her, nor is she leaning too far into making a mockery of her difficult years in the limelight. She’s just trying to have a little fun while being hand-fed caviar by a team of assistants (including none other than little Ali Lohan, all grown up). Perhaps the best part of the entire experience is the blooper reel playing over the credits that stands as proof Lohan did have fun filming this easy breezy movie. It’s not a comeback for comeback’s sake, but because there’s something to be gained from it—a little bit of fun for all of us. Plus in her interview with Amanda Seyfried posted last week she says she wasn't exactly getting a lot of offers so all things considered I think this is positioning her very well. It's basically just a stepping stone (if she wants it to be), showing she's professional, still has on screen presence and there's interest in her: https://ew.com/movies/falling-for-christmas-ignite-lindsay-lohan-renaissance/
Lovett Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I can't believe she used a body double for the kiss scene. So funny.
Mr. Duff Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 I just watched this and while I love Lindsay, this is so bad Chord and Lindsay do not have any chemistry at all. I've enjoyed a lot of cheesy Christmas movies, this is not enjoyable or at least watchable. But happy for this to be a stepping stone for Lindsay to get more movies in the future.
okgo Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) the way this is making people thirsty for more Lindsay and to see her in DIFFERENT types of movies - Netflix better pay attention to that last part Netflix's Falling For Christmas Was Better Than I Expected, Here's Why I Want To See Lindsay Lohan Act More Quote Getting back into the game of performing isn’t always a home run. Easing back into that world is something that requires the right approach, otherwise it could serve as a reminder of why an actor stepped away in the first place. As far as returns go, Lindsay Lohan’s role as Sarah, the hotel heiress with amnesia trying to figure out who she is, is a great fit for bringing her back into action. Lohan's undoubtedly comfortable with being back in the acting saddle, and it made Falling for Christmas an even cozier experience. Again, this is where this very genre-focused project surprises the most. The film allowed its entire cast to sidestep the usual over-the-top antics of a holiday rom-com, which opened Ms. Lohan and the entire cast to actually sell their roles pretty convincingly. Whether it was being moved by the mournful, but kind spirit of Chord Overstreet’s character Jake, or reacting to a CGI raccoon that surprised her by lurking outside her window, Lindsay Lohan is game for whatever comes her way. It's admirable dedication and a very good omen for her future with Netflix. If Lindsay Lohan were to just stick with Netflix rom-coms, then that’d still be a welcome sign. She already has another one on tap with Janeen Damian directing yet again, as we saw with the announcement of their next film Irish Wish, so more fun is on the way. However, as seen in her recent interview with fellow Mean Girls vet Amanda Seyfried, Lohan is keen to get into so many other genres of movies. Should this continued partnership between Falling for Christmas’ star and the streaming giant continue to be fruitful, the possibilities are endless. Netflix has so many spinning plates when it comes to the types of movies it offers. As the studio has kickstarted Lindsay Lohan’s potential resurgence, and the powers-that-be love to re-team with talent across the board, anything could be open to Lohan if she’s game. Imagine another Knives Out movie with Lindsay as one of the suspects, or maybe even an Extraction-style action movie where she’s the lead charged with saving the world. Those are two big examples that don't represent the entire scope of what Lindsay Lohan could be doing for Netflix, should the studio be as open to such possibilities. Lindsay Lohan should be playing wounded *******, not Netflix Christmas romcom heroines Quote The problem is that Lindsay Lohan, in spite of being admirably charming in Falling for Christmas, is at her most compelling when she isn’t being cute, and her assured touch with slapstick in the film pales in comparison to her ability to play raw, wounded ******* in some of her better latter-day performances. Hints of that ability appear here, as when she directs a nervous minion to lift a glass of champagne up to her lips with little more than an impatient, petulant twitch of her chin, or when she echoes the audience’s feelings by appraising her uninspiring future love interest and then, almost comatose with disdain, asking him huskily: “And you are…?” There is something of Barbara Stanwyck about Lindsay Lohan, both women capable of switching between comedienne and femme fatale without ever entirely sacrificing their sharp edges, perpetually exuding the air of having seen just a little too much to ever be fully innocent again. It is in part because of her own desire to act as though her wilderness years never happened, and to flatten herself into the kind of well-meaning, inoffensive sweetheart who is capable of carrying a Netflix Christmas rom-com. Like a great many millennial women, I am happy to see Lindsay Lohan thrive, just as I was happy to see Britney Spears freed from the legal clutches of her father. Still, I hope that her ability to show up and be charming for the span of her two-picture deal with Netflix is enough to convince a serious filmmaker to work with her again, and I hope that she eventually feels capable of showing us a little more of the old, fiery, complicated Lindsay Lohan: a brat, yes, but also “a terrific actress” (Meryl Streep) and “a great talent with a really sexy voice” (Robert Altman). If she is ready to step up and do the work, her audience may finally be ready to receive her in all of her naughty, Marlboro-voiced glory – to accept that she has sometimes been a bad girl, and has occasionally been a very bad girl, but ultimately to remember that at her very best, almost nobody did it better. Quote Lohan’s new movie Falling for Christmas may not be Lohan’s The Silence of the Lambs, but it is being embraced by both audiences and critics who seem to be welcoming Lohan back to the screen with open arms. The film reached #1 on Netflix’s Top 10, and reviews praised Lohan, pointing to her “irrepressible charm” and “hilarious …. Yet […] also delicately faceted when melancholic moments arise.” Lohan’s career may have petered out regardless of the press, but it is a true shame that the world will never know what she would have accomplished if the people around her had given her the support and protection she needed. There are many lessons to be learned from looking at Lohan’s life and career, but the biggest takeaway will always be her blinding, unquestionable talent as an actress, which hopefully will continue to be acknowledged as Lohan continues to dip her feet back into the waters of Hollywood. https://www.34st.com/article/2022/12/lindsay-lohan-falling-for-christmas-comeback-hollywood And it's somehow fresh on RT again I really hope she plays her cards right and chooses her next projects wisely.. okgo Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 just saw this too omg when Jane convinces her husband to cast Lindsay in an edgy comedy or the next The Office
Hector Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 The analysis of holiday movie watching found American households are eager to re-watch the classic holiday staples. The most-watched movie in the lead-up to Christmas was the 80s classic, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” viewed by 8.6 million U.S. households. “Home Alone” followed closely behind, with 8.4 million households, and Will Ferrel’s “Elf” nabbed 7.9 million households. By comparison, just two new streaming holiday movies (“Falling for Christmas” starring Lindsay Lohan and “The Noel Diary” starring Justin Hartley — both on Netflix), surpassed 2.5 million households within the same time period and cracked into the top 10 most-watched films. kandicha Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 The way my cousins made us watch this on Thanksgiving and then my sister made us watch this on Christmas as well. It’s very cute and funny, didn’t mind watching it twice.
Miles. Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 This was really, really bad. I like a fun, cheesy Christmas movie (loved those ridiculous V Hudge Princess Switch ones) but this one was just cringe all the way through. Glad it's successful for Lindsay and Chord though!
