So far, she's a 2x BAFTA, 2x SAG, 2x Critics Choice (1 acting win, ASIB), 3x Golden Globe (1 acting win, AHS) and an Academy Award nominated actress (yes, just the acting nominations). How many names can you think off the top of your head that have similar stats like her? And is this your best attempt to diminish her already stellar acting career?

Ok so the just wrote all that to tell me she didn't win for acting lol

People are dumb. You don't blame the actors for their panned movie unless the critics dragged their acting, blame the director. Dumb*ss*s.

Glenn Close (her fellow 2019 co-nominee) doesn't have a single acting win despite EIGHT career acting nominations. Is she not an actress according to you then? Is an Oscar win for acting the only yardstick we measure an actor's acting talent with? Is this the best you can come up with?

Glenn close should have many Oscars honestly.

It's funny considering she had always wanted to pursue acting before becoming a musician:jonny6: she is truly WINNING and no one can't stop her!!! :1stplace::heart2: imagine getting nominated for an Oscar in your first lead movie ever and also getting a huge success and critical acclaim from it:clap3:  she's her own league at this point:gaygacat4:

She's 2 major roles in. Most actors take literal years to win an Oscar to the point that winning one is typically seen as the apex of a career in Hollywood. You can say she isn't successful solely on the basis that she hasn't won an acting Oscar, but that category also includes people like Sarah Paulson, Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Colman Domingo, Amy Adams, Isabelle Huppert, Angela Bassett, Saoirse Ronan, Ron Cephas Jones, Vanessa Kirby, Tom Cruise, etc. Not to say that she's on their level currently, but it's an obviously asinine and reductive barometer to use against her.

And that's ignoring how Babs was a Tony-winning actor way before she became a pop recording artist. If anything, she's the reverse. An actor who moved into music.

You did forget Diana Ross tho, she got into BA for Lady Sings the Blues :gaycat3:

And she’s also Razzie-nominated, lost all major acting noms in 2022 and was n/a at this years Oscars. :coffee:

... For a random cameo. Regardless, she's obviously found lots of critical and awards success for other roles. And many big respected names get a random Razzie nom. Sandra Bullock literally won Worst Actress the night before she won an Oscar for The Blind Side. It's a mute point.

And she won probably the most prestigious film award in America other than the Oscars for her acting in HoG. NYFCC is inarguably more prestigious than say the Globes or Critic's Choice so once again, your thrown-together argument falls apart. She had a fantastic awards season irregardless of the snub. Now shoo and make another troll thread that won't make it past the first page. :coffee:

She has only been in 2 movies and one of them was a panned flop. Why should gaga be credited for anything when there have been dozens more successful singers/actresses?

What a deluded sentence. HOG was not panned nor a flop. Lmao.

That user discrediting Gaga is hating 101.

OT: I’m proud of how she shifted her career, the strategy itself was impressive and should be taught, cause Gaga was thought to be over after ArtPop but she turned it around.

There's no strategy in this, if there were someone would've already done it. It's only talent and hard work for miss Gaga.

At this point, with the out of this world logic that has debuted here, I wish HoG had a RT score of 59... That would put it closer to a generally favorable reception than a panned reception. GENIUS! :ahh:

Gaga was lucky to have been given the role of a singer on ASIB since that's what she does in her life lol, too bad her next role consisted solely in implementing an irrealistic odd accent which is pathetic to say the least.

According to her stans Gaga's performance on HOG was groundbreaking when in reality it resulted in an offensive stereotypical depiction of Italians.

The role that gave her a new Golden Globe nom, a new CCA nom, a new BAFTA nom, a new SAG nom and a NYFCC win. I think it is pretty good for a "pathetic" and "offensive stereotypical" role.

An ACCLAIMED performance in her second lead role by critics, audiences and some of the most esteemed and veteran film directors. Not bad for a "pathetic role with an offensive, stereotypical depiction". But at least you tried.
