UPDATE:

Harry Styles, Actor: What Would Make Him a Good One?

You can’t fault Styles for being green amid the grind of press corps talking points — he’s only made four movies, and that’s if you count his post-credits “Eternals” cameo. He is a pop star trying to mold himself into the image of an actor, as other pop stars have tried, some with more success (Lady Gaga) than others (Madonna). His remarks reflect a misunderstanding of the craft — or at least a less than fully formed appreciation of it —and that’s reflected in his work.

Probably the most successful female crossover since Cher.

And we LOVE to see it.

Manifesting Gaga + Tarantino for her next project after Joker

He's already a fan because he lent her the ***** Wagon for the "Telephone" video

She has only been in 2 movies and one of them was a panned flop. Why should gaga be credited for anything when there have been dozens more successful singers/actresses?

Can the other lions take Ms. @Blue Rose:keir:

HoG HEAVILY outperformed most, if not all of the movies of its genre at the height of the pandemic when it comes to box office success, so it's not even close to being a flop. Also, Gaga is regarded as the only positive thing about HoG by the majority though, so it still boosted her status as an actress (commercially and critically). :heart2:

And her, managing to book the leading role for Joker: Folie a Deux, proves that.

The movie still ended up in the red. It wasn’t a commercial success. The poor critical reception is what stopped its tracks.

I personally liked Gaga’s performance and most of the movie. But I just don’t think she has done enough in her movie career for stans to credit her as the pioneer of singers doing movies, when this has been a normal, even expected, thing for decades. Thats all Im saying.

certain bases already fuming and can’t comprehend the fact that Ga has already starred in successful films w just her first two leading roles that already garnered Hollywood’s praise something they’re fave tried so hard to achieve but failed miserably :bibliahh:

Then that's your own opinion. Again, if she isn't widely respected in the acting industry, she wouldn't get such a big and critical role as the new Harley, starring along side Phoenix. :keir:  Also, nobody is claiming she's the pioneer of doing it. RIP Reading Comprehension. NEXT.

Its theatrical run was $155M against a $75M budget… During the pandemic. It’s the 26th highest domestic gross and 31st highest international gross of 2021. Literally ever film above it is a franchise/kid’s movie. It performed miraculously especially considering the film itself was meh.

After licensing and home media, it definitely didn’t end up in the red :dies: Y’all just say anything… and say it confidently :deadbanana4:

how was nabbing the highest adult opening for a drama a flop? and making almost 2x its budget back a commercial failure? if so, tell us what adult R rated drama or further yet, any drama film released the pass two years that has reached or surprass HOG’s BO numbers. not even the year’s most prestige & upcoming award’s contender film, EEAAO, has reached it, so please tell us how’s its a flop :rip:

People are dumb. You don't blame the actors for their panned movie unless the critics dragged their acting, blame the director. Dumb*ss*s.

His acting isn’t getting praised though, unlike Gaga’s in both of her lead roles.

I'm talking about Gaga. Some d*mbass*s here are blaming her for the lukewarm reception of HoG when it should be the director to be blamed for that.
