Y’all will let any gay film flop if it doesn’t meet your hyper specific criteria. This is why it’s so hard to get gay media to succeed.

I honestly don’t care to watch it, but I’m gonna buy a ticket probably just to do it

SPEAK ON IT!

We also want cliche popcorn gay flicks, stop with the CMBYM art film aesthetic.

YES :clap3:exactly.

It’s so easy too. Like just take any movie that already exists and make the character gay. It can have the exact same storyline and everything, just make them gay. Gay people go to the store and bump their toe and go on vacation etc, like it’s really not hard to write a story about anything other than the struggle of coming to terms with your identity etc.

“But why do they have to be gay if the story doesn’t have anything to do with that? Why does it have to appease the snowflakes??” - sis why is any character in any movie straight??? If the movie has nothing of note to do with their sexual interests then it doesn’t matter if they are gay or straight. But people in the world are queer whether it’s relevant to the conversation you’re having about lost artifacts or volcanoes or what to have for dinner. They just exist and that’s the point :deadbanana4:

:clap3:we need a hallmark movies channel for gay love stories

Lettuce hope this film will be a success, and give Heartbreaker / If You Should Ever Be Lonely Remix a boost in popularity, like that Ryan Reynolds movie did to Fantasy. :clap3:

I'll still go to see it, but something about Billy rubs me the wrong way. Especially with him saying to the press that this film is "Historic" as if Love Simon, Moonlight, etc don't exist. :toofunny3:

Fire Island was terrible and the critics loved it so I'll reserve judgement until I see it

I went to see it yesterday (loved it) and it’s so much better than what the trailer suggests (which I hated).

The first half was definitely a lot stronger with clever comedic punches, the second half was a little more cliché but still enjoyable. Overall a great romcom, reminded me of Bridesmaids at parts :clap3:

The trailer is a mess and that alone would not make me want to watch it.

This rubbed me the wrong way too. Also when he was at the VMAs talking about go support it in the name of politics, that bothered me.

Speak for yourself, I'm certainly going to be watching. I choose to support queer media.
