This is an AWARDS movie. Probably the best Chastain has ever done and Redmayne is crazy excellent in it. I saw it last year in a test screening ( was practically almost done but I'm sure they probably cut about 5-10min of fluff). If Netflix is smart ( and it looks like they are since it'll be in select theaters) thisll be an awards contender. Only thing that might hinder it is that the subject matter is intense af. I needed a shower and a palate cleanser afterwards but still good film.

Really? I didn't get that vibe from the trailer at all BUT :clap3:if it happens. How was the direction and how would you rank this among Jessica's other performances.

The direction was pretty solid. My only other nitpick is a plot point in the film that I think might have been shorehorned in at the beginning for something that happens later that I don't think actually happened in the real life story. But otherwise Chastain played her role excellently. It's very subdued but necessary. There's a scene between her and Redmayne which has to rival her confrontation with Idris in Molly's Game. Probably my favorite scene of hers. This role isn't the most entertaining ( again the subject matter is intense af if they kept the scenes of how these people died) but I say it's still in line with Tammy Faye and Molly Bloom.

Redmayne is really great in the supporting role cuz I don't wanna spoil anything I won't say much about his character. Let's just say he gave me the reaction Netflix probably expects people to get out of his character.

Definitely one of my favorites from her. It's just when I watch it again when it gets released,  I def need a palate cleanser after.

And DONT LOOK UP THE STORY. Go in blind. Trust and believe when I looked it up after watching it I was shocked how much of it was true.

This is one of those cases where I'll see this movie based solely on the two leads :gaycat2: Love going into a movie blind, so I'm not gonna watch the trailer, but looking forward to the release!

She is really coming for a second oscar huh. Do you think she can serve a "frances mcdormand"? I'm kinda here for it

The amount of great films Eddie could have made in the last few years if he wasn’t tied to the TERF’s bombs…

This looks very interesting but Eddie is such an awful actor, that might ruin it for me.

She better win that second Oscar. This looks GREAT!

Saw this at the TIFF premiere. The acting was so good. Slow burn at first but picks up halfway.

Saw this movie with Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne in the theatre. Jessica was radiant in person. They both devoured this role. Loved the dynamic between the both of them. Both were very believable as friends and nurses. Much preferred Jessica here over Tammy Faye. One of my favourites from TIFF! There’s so much true crime out there but they manage to portray these nurses as humans as opposed to victim and killer.

Is this part of the Good universe? (Good wife, good doctor, the good fight, good sam, etc)
