Delirious Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Black Panther still did better tho because of inflation
Nip Tuck Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 why are we celebrating the success of a military propaganda film
tiagol88 Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 The real news to me is the fact that this weekend the top 2 movies competing for #1 are Spider-Man No Way Home (re-release) and Top Gun that came out in May

ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted September 5, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted September 5, 2022 This film's longevity is truly something else. I finally was able to watch it last week (been meaning to since its premiere) and while it's certainly well made and fun, I think it might be just a tad over hyped

This is also a message to Hollywood that there is indeed a market for different types of blockbuster films. But yes, the film is just fine, nostalgia driven for sure and a little bit of American right wing reactionaries claiming this isn't "Hollywood propaganda" (I mean, it might not have any gheis in it, but it's literally military propaganda )

Definitely a well made film that knew exactly what it’s assignment was
