Oh boy things just got REAL interesting now. Come to snatch another title? Score a few more #1 hits? Get that coveted 9+ scoring opus?

Side note: I was reading our purposeful pop collab "Pyramid" a short while ago and we kinda served, definitely too ahead of its time for certain people I think!

Let's begin the countdown to Round 1 of Golden Hit: Season 2 with a little question and answer time!

I'm sure many of you have some burning questions or would just like to understand the mechanics of the game a little better, and we also would like to get to know you as writers a little more! Until the debut of Round 1 this season, please feel free to ask any and every question you may have relating to the tournament (or about anything, really!) @fountain and I will do our best to get back to you ASAP.

My co-host has also prepared a fun optional questionnaire for everyone to participate in to get to know each other better, if you wish to do so:

1. Tell us a little about yourself (preferred name, pronouns, etc.)

2. What is your previous experience with songwriting?

3. Who are your favourite artists, songwriters, and/or both?

4. What are your favourite lyrics, and the best written songs in your opinion?

5. What are some of your main sources of creative inspiration?

6. Lastly, feel free to share some examples of your writing!

Finally, in order to draw attention to the impending first round of Golden Hit S2, we're going to spread the word by tagging! If Golden Hit isn't for you, fret not—this will be the only mass tag unless you actually sign up for the tournament. We really hope to see as many of you as possible, even for a round or two. :heart2:

Well, you've both currently got an 83.3% chance of your lead singles going Top 10, so I'd say that's reason enough to submit! Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table. :duca:

1. Tell us a little about yourself (preferred name, pronouns, etc.)

I'm Diego and I’m fine with any pronouns and I prefer to call me as my username aka muse JULIA FOX

2. What is your previous experience with song writing?

Well I have been writing songs since I was 7 or something like that… I love writing to be honest and I have been doing it lately more than ever!

3. Who are your favourite song writers?

Right now is Sabrina Carpenter, her last album hit me so much and have an stellar songwriting that showed so much growth. Also love Lorde, Shakira and Lily Allen because I love how they have her own songwriting style and make it work because it’s all

so authentic and unique. That’s the mark I want to reach with my songwriting.

4. List some examples of your favourite lyrics and the best written songs in your opinion.

Right now I love how many things by Sabrina Carpenter. It’s hilarious, deep, personal and relatable and so her at the same time. Like the way she open the song with the lyrics “you used a fork once/it turns out forks are ******* everywhere” and you laugh because it was such a random ass lyrics but then she follows it with “There’s no hiding from the thought of us/I got ways to find you anywhere” and then everything makes sense and you start to cry after laughing so hard. It’s stellar!

5. What are some of your main sources of creative inspiration?

Right now is my personal life. A month ago I realized that the past three years for me have been very chaotic and I don’t mean that in a bad way. I mean a lot has happened and still is. I can say songwriting has helped me a lot to find what I have been through and without it I couldn’t even have been able to realize how many things have happened in my life since 2019. Really the most intense, skillful and unexpected moments of my entire life

6. Lastly, feel free you share some examples of your writing!

Okay this is a song I have written like a month ago or something. I called it "Chained” but now reading at it I find “Scene” is a very good title tho but well that doesn’t matter lol

Spoiler

i tried to see what it was impossible to be seen

i rewrite everything, just to not hurt you with a stupid little detail

i bite my tongue because if I don’t simply I’m like the worst

and, maybe i am

then why do you complain?

you are not chained to me

you are not obligated to be with me

i didn’t asked for it

circumstances are hard

and so is be with ya’

stop with this scene

because I’m tired of it

i tried the best to give you anything you asked

even if I reached you the moon you would say its little for you

i loved you to the moon and back but maybe I just want to take you there sometimes

being away from ya’

let me breathe and feel alive

killed my vibe with your angry attacks

ruined my songs, because it weren’t yours

selfishly mad, starting to cry

saying I didn’t loved you, how dare you to say that?

but you are not chained to me

you are not obligated to be with me

i didn’t asked for it

circumstances are hard

and so is be with ya’

stop with this scene

because I’m tired of it

fell so deeply in your traps

you couldn’t believe that I would give so much

but you took advantage of it

and wanted to me to disappear

just to make yourself feel complete

but baby you’ll never feel like that

how does it feel to be sad and ****** up and lonely at the same time now that I left you here alone with your poor mind?

but you are not chained to me

you are not obligated to be with me

i didn’t asked for it

circumstances are hard

and so is be with ya’

stop with this scene

because I’m tired of it

now I’m not chained to you

i never were obligated to do so

i can’t believe I used to wanted this

circumstances were ****** up

just like so be with ya’

end of the scene

it was too much for me

1. Tell us a little about yourself (preferred name, pronouns, etc.)

I'm Alex but prefer the name Remmy :gaycat3: He/him, 27, bisexual w/ heavy preference towards men YURP

2. What is your previous experience with song writing?

I would always write little songs in class just out of nowhere and I'd continue that for years (at home as well.) I actually shared a decent amount on Facebook & ATRL blogs back in the day as if I was hot s**t for writing songs despite my lyrics being super basic. :fan: And maybe they still are but not as much! Nowadays I rarely write full songs but it's easy for a single lyric or a full chorus to suddenly pop into my head, and sometimes that one little snippet is enough for me to imagine how a full song would sound. I also LOVE to create tracklists and make up song titles. I also participated in Golden Hit S1 with decent success. :alexz3:

3. Who are your favourite song writers?

Taylor Swift obviously! Also people like Lorde, Ryn Weaver, Hayley Williams...

4. List some examples of your favourite lyrics and the best written songs in your opinion.

I'm gonna be basic and say All Too Well :gaycat4: and The Edge of Glory is my favorite song of all time so maybe pieces of that!

5. What are some of your main sources of creative inspiration?

A lot of the music I listen to, mainly pop/alt pop/indie pop & rock. Sometimes I'll grab little cute & clever phrases/sentences from movies, TV, videos, streams, etc. My most common topics I write about are: mental health, dark s**t, relationships, partying, sex :)) and yet a lot of my songs aren't based on events I've actually experienced.

6. Lastly, feel free you share some examples of your writing!

Here's another random tracklist + some song titles I've jotted down since S1 ended :cm:~

Tracklist:
'Nocturnal Indulgence' - most songs are upbeat, revolving around a party [Songs in BOLD are from a deluxe version]

1. Nocturnal Indulgence
2. Bring Me to the Party

5. In My System
6. Bopdrop

"how does it feel to be sad and ****** up and lonely at the same time now that I left you here alone with your poor mind?" :jonny3:

I think "Chained" is a fitting title honestly, but I also like "Scene". Hmm, perhaps one in parentheses could work i.e. "Chained (Scene)". :matty:

Stand by Yebba probably has some of my favourite lyrics ever tbh:

When you went away
Moonlight took the day
Stars and darkness all collided in the loneliest of space
When you went away
My universe divided
All that's left is the matter of asking myself
Will you stand?

Lovely imagery! Astral imagery has definitely been utilised to great success in past tournaments, including our own 8thPrince's "Fraternite" from last season.
