Ultimately it's up to you, but I for one stan Aliennia! I think you'll find Golden Hit is a bit different from past writing tournaments in what is typically well-received. We're very open-minded to all different styles, and as long as there's creativity and commitment to concept, chances are you'll do pretty well.

 

I mean, "Paradise" alone is a masterpiece.  I literally stanned so hard the first time I heard, "I don't know where I'm gonna be tomorrow / All that I know, is I'll cry tears of joy, not sorrow".

We're looking forward to seeing some fantastic entries inspired by Zoology. Here is the challenge prompt to refresh your memory.

 

For some additional #MondayMotivation and potential inspiration, I'd like to share some songs I've written that would fit this round.

In fact, it turns out I've written at least one song inspired by an animal or other (crypto)zoological inspiration per project/album:

Some of these songs performed reasonably well, while others did not (looking at you, "Chameleon" ) so don't take this as any kind of indicator of what I/the others are looking for, just sharing art for the sake of sharing, and if it helps anyone, that's great too!  Perhaps our other judges @8thPrince@fountain@Jackson wouldn't mind sharing some of their own works also?

This reminded me that I was looking into my discography and seeing what animal-themed songs I had. Just the ones from songwriting game seasons:

you could reach a bit and say Werewolf/Moon (SOTS 3) counts for wolf, but werewolves are notably different. ? So I'm not completely unfamiliar with writing about animals but I rarely make them a main motif.

Some of these songs performed reasonably well, while others did not (looking at you, "Chameleon" ) so don't take this as any kind of indicator of what I/the others are looking for, just sharing art for the sake of sharing, and if it helps anyone, that's great too!  Perhaps our other judges @8thPrince@fountain@Jackson wouldn't mind sharing some of their own works also?

I looked through my discography and only saw one animal related song, and it wasn’t one of my best so i’ll sit this one out

I think that sounds fine, as long as we can tell that your song has the inspiration of an animal behind it then that’s great.

you could reach a bit and say Werewolf/Moon (SOTS 3) counts for wolf, but werewolves are notably different. ? So I'm not completely unfamiliar with writing about animals but I rarely make them a main motif.

Ugh, "June Bugs" is still a quintessential Hugamarian classique.  It's a shame it wasn't a submitted song, since I think it would have scalped tbh. Can we expect a sequel this season, perhaps?

The shower really is such an inspiring place, isn't it?! I couldn't tell you how many concept ideas or "missing lyrics" I've found in the tranquility of a hot shower.

Sounds fine to me! As long as you've been inspired by an animal(s), and that translates with the lyrics of your song, you can really go in any direction you wish.

The modesty, I'm sure it's fine! Heck, I even shared the sixth song I ever wrote, and while it's no masterpiece (and is kind of the oddball in my album and was left off the tour setlist for that very reason ) I've come to appreciate it in its own way.
