discussion Dakota Fanning doesn't feel like a hasbeen but Abigail Breslin does. Why?

Even though Dakota isn't as prominent as she once was, she still gets cast in films and tv series that get nominated for awards such as The Alienist, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The First Lady, etc., starring alongside award winners and nominees.  She also still gets invited regularly to major industry events such as the Met Gala and the Golden Globes, dressed by top designers. 

 

One of her contemporaries, Abigail Breslin, who actually was nominated for an Oscar in the past, is mostly cast in direct to VOD films and is N/A at major industry events these days. I also think she was the worst part of Scream Queens, so her acting ability has gone downhill imo.

Abigail doesn't have a career as an adult (yet). she's still very young she can still turn it around.

Dakota, on the other hand, has been completely overtaken by her sister. glad she's still working though, nothing i've seen but good for her

Dakota had a string of undeniable blockbusters. She's consistently performs alongside industry legends and icons and her sister is an extremely talented A-list actress. Solidified fame. She's just that girl.

I love Hailee but she's in a different category imo. She was high school age in her breakout film and after that starred in a bunch of flops (except for 17 and Bumblebee) but is now peaking again as an adult. Abigail and Dakota were already veterans with multiple blockbusters under their belt by the time they were 14 and then their careers, especially Abigail's, kinda died down as they became adults.

Because Dakota is still presenting herself as a brand. Abigail really does not. You can look at the Instagrams and see the insane difference.

Exactly the same is gonna happen to these Anya and Millie girls. They just get cast because they look young and caucasian and have this pretentions and precocious face that Hollywood eats up.

I feel like this is mostly a personality thing, rather than talent/acting chops. I ve been following Abigail on socials for quite some time now, and she seems like a very low-key, introverted person. I don't think she really wants to become this huge superstar.
