I LOVED THIS! I cannot wait for this predator series to continue and for Hulu/Disney to drop the Alien series, if this is how we are starting.

Loved. Will watch again. 10/10 recommend

I thought this was excellent. Dan Trachtenberg is really proving himself as a name to watch out for when it comes to directing. I am surprised it took this long for a new movie of his to come out considering how much of a critical and commercial success 10 Cloverfield Lane was.

To me this film feels like the perfect way to approach an old franchise, it embraces the spirit of the original but sets it in a new environment and culture, it turns the classic Predator into something that feels new and fresh. I watched the Comanche dub of the film and I feel no need to watch the English version, the dub is well done and the movie should have been shot that way. It adds to the experience and atmosphere of the story. I wish this got a theatrical release, it would have done extremely well.

I liked how they played with audience expectations with the scene where she almost drowns in the mud, it ties back to the original with Arnold using the mud to hide himself from the Predator's thermal vision. You think she would use it as well but she washes it off immediately. I also loved how much the movie trusts its audience and builds to certain things paying off towards the end.

Naru is also resourceful but makes mistakes and it takes time to build up the final confrontation between her and the Predator. She is not a Mary Sue character where everything goes her way without explanation which is why the final fight is so satisfying to watch. It is something that is built up through the entire story.

This is the kind of movie the Terminator and Alien franchise are BEGGING for, those two franchises need to cut the **** and go back to the source of what worked with the original and build from there. I wouldn't mind seeing other Predator films set in different time periods with only tiny connections between them, just like this movie connects to Predator 2 with the gun that shows up in that film and this one.

"No. 1 premiere on Hulu to date, including all film and TV series debuts. Additionally, the pic was the most watched film premiere on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star Banner in all other territories, based on hours watched in the first three days of its release."

It's a HIT :clap3:.

How did the predator not see her when it attacked the bald french guy by the fire?

When she noticed that the predator didn't see him at first because she fed him the orange flower that cools the blood. (It only attacked him when he reacted to the Predator). Then as it was focusing on him she was hiding behind the tree and ate the orange flower as well.

The movie was so good. :jonny: I still need to watch it with the Comanche dub though.
