Peacock did two seasons of “Beyond Salem” and a “Days” Christmas movie last year.
Infatuation_Junkie Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) so many iconic storylines in the 90s. Edited August 3, 2022 by Infatuation_Junkie
STMG23 Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 (edited) I know this may seem brutal to loyal older viewers and I am sure there are many who are very sad now but it`s time to make a shift. There are many options to view peacock I hear and there's a government program to support low income families getting internet. Get online, people! From a business standpoint this is totally logical. They wanna push there streaming service and a soap is probably one of the best ways to really bind viewers, getting them to enter the app every single day. Edited August 4, 2022 by STMG23
livelikemusic Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 I mean, we saw this coming, and anyone who says they didn't are lying to themselves. NBC gave Days of Our Lives a two-year renewal deal (which they hadn't in a long-ass time), and then Peacock commissioned two limited-run series in Beyond Salem and a one-off Christmas film, and it was obviously a tester to see if audiences would move from NBC to Peacock for the streaming, and it is clear they did. My hope is, through this move, Sony Pictures Television removes itself and NBCUniversal steps in, puts in some f**king money to this soap, and allows the post-production value to increase, because if not, this will be the worst-looking series on streaming in history.
livelikemusic Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Also... the downside is that this is going to be on the $5 tier, and no longer free to view.
Horizon Flame Posted August 4, 2022 Author Posted August 4, 2022 Maybe they’re offloading the final season on the contract to Peacock, which would be incredibly sad. I wonder if they’ll pull a Passions and eventually cut back how many days a week the show is on for. Either this move will be the best thing for Days or it’s doomed. It’s crazy how NBC will no longer have a soap on the air. Days has been on for over half a century.
