This reminds me of the time ATRL back in 2012 panicked about DIRECTV removing Viacom channels (now ViacomCBS such as MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, BET etc.) but this far worse.

Why do people keep saying HBO Max is successful? WB has never revealed how many subscribers it has (for a reason) and it never pops up in the Nielsen ratings.  It's also a total non-factor outside of the US.

It has become one of the top streaming platforms in my home country (South America) and in less than a year it’s been embraced tremendously where I live now (Europe). There’s also a very loyal following to some of their originals (GOT, SATC) and they’re the only platform carrying “Friends” and “Harry Potter” which are global pulls, not to mention the acclaim and basically having the best original content.

Welp. If they shove all of the reality TV from Discovery on there and are canceling the MAX content, I'll be canceling my subscription for sure. Seems like the good times with streaming services are behind us... Sigh. They're all bundling up and gonna make it like cable packages almost.

I just watched the new PLL show a few days ago too ahhhhh. This sucks. I was really enjoying it! Hopefully they move some of the MAX shows over to regular HBO? :(

Cus their global expansion is still "ongoing". hbo max isnt available in asia yet for example. Idk whats taking so long. Now I can only cope with hbogo and torrent

Can someone explain this. Why are South Park and Reno 911 on HBO Max, but both shows' new specials/movies are only on Paramount+? Does Paramount only have rights to those new properties, and will the series make the move to Discovery+? I would be pissed if there was nowhere to watch either.

Absolutely terrible . This is a glimpse of what you can expect from now on. He's a boomer cheapskate bigot that will remove any trace of diversity from WB under the excuse of 'we only do what sells now". Oh and because this WILL fail on him, don't think he won't come for HBO main next, awards , critical acclaim and artistry doesn't hold any weight in his regime considering he's doing all of this JUST so his own brand aka the lousy Discovery can prosper ...that he turned into an absolute trashy reality hell meme. 

 

Nobody but the most mediocre anti-woke friend of a friend white dudes will want to work with WB now with how they're scorching everything. 

 

I'm beyond worried for Harley Quinn, even if it's successful and acclaimed I'm not sure the new regime would want any queer women led shows so they might just cancel it just because it doesn't fit their vision of the DC brand they'll begin building.

If he wanted to come for the main HBO he wouldn't have renewed Casey Bloys (head of content for HBO) for another 5 year contract. One of the rare people to not get replaced but extended even with the new regime change in Warner.
