We're now back to cable TV times again, where you need to sign up for every company channel otherwise you cant watch their content. If everything was unified, then that would've been much better from a consumer point of view. That's historically incorrect The more competition, the better for the consumer. Netflix alone in the industry would completely inflate prices and cease investments
EnoughSaid Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 They’re insane, hbo max is slaying and it’s only a couple years old

Nobody would know HBO originals or those HBO Max/WB Television originals/Cartoon Network would be in a Discovery streaming service, that name might even pull people off. How are Paramout+ and Peacock doing? Yeah cause quality is what men in suits care about. Clearly they don’t care otherwise the merger wouldn’t have occurred. Discovery+ have 25m subscribers and possibly 3x more of trash series they don’t want to produce is all they care about.
orange22 Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 not y’all begging for a streaming monopoly??? competition pushes these companies to make better content & innovate

Gwendolyn Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 This is terrible and disrespectful, all that hard work from the producers, directors, writers and more going down the toliet for the 1076689 version of 90 day finace or whatever the hell it's called. This will make wb and discovery lose so much money its crazy
ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted August 3, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted August 3, 2022 That wouldn't make any sense

Life Savers Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 This is nonsensical Who cares about Discovery's stuff. HBOMax is the best service right now.
vipanonymous Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I don't care about Discovery+, hope the merge is fake.
Daddy Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Ummm, what does that mean? There won't be any HBOmax at all anymore. They won't come to Europe? I'm lost.

I'm lost. yes. basically, Discovery+ will become HBO Max and they will stop producing any scripted shows (like Hacks or Gossip Girl). HBO Max exclusive shows will still be on the Discovery+ service, but it will probably slowly drop any original scripted programming and focus on reality shows etc. so basically the dumbest business move in streaming history apart from Quibi.
Lost In Paradise Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 I'm sure you'll still be able to just pay like $12/month for regular HBO without cable.
Relampago. Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 If they don’t release their scripted original content on whatever HBO max becomes, I will be cancelling my subscription x
Guest Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 That ugly ass boomer of discovery is ruining Warner
