Martyr Of Fame Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Officially seated It’ll all be over in 2 hours
Lead Cenobite Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Yeah, this was pretty bad. I went in knowing some of the leaks but wow, it was an anti-climatic ending to this new trilogy.
Martyr Of Fame Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Holy ****, that was…something. The best way I can describe it is: imagine if MTV had the rights to Halloween and they made it into a tv show. This movie would be the first and only season. Cut into 2 hours.

BNF91 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 This movie is about to have some of the worst legs ever seen in box office history. Halloween Kills already couldn't even get past a 2x multi from the debut weekend, I can't see this one doing any better.
Martyr Of Fame Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Full initial thoughts: *there’s NO spoilers about specific scenes, but if you’re extra sensitive to spoilers or have a problem making inferences from general comments, do not read** Full disclosure. I’m a huge Michael Myers fan. Halloween is my second favorite horror series. I even like most of the ‘bad’ ones. This…well, I honestly don’t know to feel about this. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing. I didn’t even watch the trailer but I did hear some of it while watching NOPE. I’m not going to spoil anything specific but I will say that given the direction of the previous 2 films, I had general idea where this ship was heading. Turns out I was wrong. And I can’t imagine a scenario where most people decide that that’s a good thing. At least at first. Maybe down the line, I can appreciate the film for what it is but right now it feels like I had the rug pulled out from under me. I’m not upset, I’m just confused by choices that were made. The best way I can describe it is: imagine if MTV had the rights to Halloween and they made it into a tv show. This movie would be the first and only season. Cut into 2 hours. I’ll rewatch it Friday and see if I appreciate it more now that I know where it’s going, but for now I’m not impressed.
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I read some spoilers and tbh I knew it's gonna be bad from the beggining, but the finale seems satisfying to #me at least
Uncatena Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I just read the spoilers... are they not embarrassed??? the fact that this director gets to make the new Exorcist movies... actually a tragedy.
mokitsu Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 WTF did i just watch this was CRAP most of it being fanfiction level writing, it felt like a riverdale episode. the opening sequence being the best part centering the finale on some random whiny dude while Michael dwells in a SEWER was appalling. most of the kills happening off screen or being blurred (the radio host’s was cool tho) i’ll say that this was mostly a great showing for Jamie, and the final 20 minutes (when the movie finally started caring about her and Michael ) were genuinely thrilling. these writers should never attempt at doing romantic scenes again. jesus was the dialogue TERRIBLE!
Coma Baby Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 This was SO bad. They really said **** character writing and turned Laurie into a completely different person. Baking and flirting, being all bubbly and careless and giving her granddaughter relationship advice all while living in some random low ass security house knowing Michael who killed her daughter is alive and out there. They want us believing this is the same woman who spent 40 years on the defense, paranoid, compulsive, locking herself up inside her house. But oh yes, I forgot, she went to therapy and isn't an alcoholic anymore. Please. Don't even get me started on the actual plot, nothing made sense.
Coma Baby Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Tbh, where I thought they were gonna go and what could have been somewhat interesting and made sense with the themes of mob mentality they had going on in this and the prior movie is that Spoiler Michael (who’s apparently able to see people’s past - which is ******* stupid) was wrongly accused of killing his sister as a kid which ended up actually turning him evil while in custody. He saw the same thing in the babysitter guy which is why he let him go.

The scene of him butchering his sister could have easily been retroactively turned into the official version of events. What supposedly happened, not what actually happened. Movies do this all the time.

Sharapov Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 SCREAM ended this overrated PANNED franchise
Kevin2803 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 This was... something. It just felt so far removed from where the trilogy started in 2018. But i have to say that i appreciate David Gordon Green for having the guts to really shake things up, for better or for worse. To introduce a complete new character in the final movie of a long-running franchise and to give him so much screentime is a BOLD move. This even could've worked if they would've found a better balance, but characters like Laurie, Lindsey or even Michael himself had to take a backseat, which is kinda unsatisfying for a final movie. And it doesn't really speak for this movie if i was more excited about the guy in front of me, who was dressed as Michael Myers and even took a photo with me afterwards. When i asked, he just stared at me and stood still, just like a real Michael Myers would do.

Nothing made sense and the previous two movies were amazing. Honestly, this should have ended with Halloween Kills. Halloween Ends completely destroyed what the past two movies created. The whole mental health plotline was thrown out of the window, and for WHAT???
Shelter Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I’ll watch it but I already know it’s absolute shite. The only good one is H20. They don’t know how to make a decent one anymore. Scream won
Chris Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Wait how are some of you gays watching it already? I'm gonna watch it on PeaPenis tomorrow. Why do I have a feeling it's going to suck though?
wesleywalrus Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 I’m glad I didn’t listen to the reviews because this was genuinely so great all around and did Laurie justice. STOP listening to payola’d critics!
