Mobility Mary Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Wait, why did I actually enjoy it? Ok, the first 80 minutes could have been better. Not that they weren't fun, but it just didn't feel like a final movie for a franchise that has been going on for 45 years. The whole point of Halloween Ends was to set up Michael vs Laurie and then Laurie doesn't get enough screentime and instead the movie focuses on some random ass new character. They also randomly changed how Michael behaves for whatever reason Spoiler as if Michael would have an accomplice and as if that guy could overpower him that easily. There was no need to watch a new guy killing new characters in the final movie. I get what they were going for with the evil surviving, but changing shapes, but Michael is way too iconic at this point for this type of movie. Spoiler the new guy was hot tho I feel like this movie would have worked better as a random standalone sequel. That being said, I absolutely loved the last 20 minutes and it felt like a nice ending to the franchise to me. There were so many little throwbacks to the original. It was shot really nice and it felt like Fall. Laurie didn't get nearly as much screentime as she should have after Kills, but at least she's not unrecognisable like she was in H18 and actually feels like Laurie. I know the big plot point of this whole reboot was trauma, but it would have worked way better if they didn't decide to completely ignore H2 with it. The final fight was imo as epic as the ones in H78 a H20 which I didn't expect. This is my current ranking, but maybe it will change cause I'll be rewatching them for the rest of the month: H20 > H78 > H2 > H4 > Ends > H5 > H6 > H3 > H18 > Kills > Ressurection >RZ 2 > RZ
ccfan007 Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I seriously loved this so much besides michael getting his ass beat by corey, that was a kii
Bhabylon Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 This was interesting... I like and admire that they wanted to do something different, but I feel like the execution could've been better. Need to watch it again to form an opinion as to whether or not I liked it. Hide contents it's a Halloween movie... Michael Meyers IS Halloween. They should've better incorporated him into the first 80 minutes because his absence was noticeable.
TheBoss Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 It lost me halfway, why do they always go for the cringiest plot choices for this saga? Anyways, I found it better than Kills, that's ont saying much tho
Sweetestsecret Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 many theatres already removed it after one week in my country Smile still has more showings
Chris Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 Did anyone laugh when that stupid bully literally got torched in his mouth? That was so deserved.
starataneori Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I really liked it because all the people that were killed deserved it
MasterXPosed Posted October 20, 2022 Author Posted October 20, 2022 The novel written by the screenwriter explains what happened to Michael after Kills, and why he was living In the sewers for four years It's a really good read.
Escape Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) I loved it even though Michael was a weak ass ***** here and the fight for the mask pretty pathetic. Corey, my boy... I fell in love literally the very second I saw him. Edited October 21, 2022 by Avariko

Gottasadae Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Well, I'm kinda disappointed, this is not the story I expected for great finale
Gavin. Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Should have kept the idea of “evil not dying” but not have that aspect fully come into play till near the end after an epic battle between Laurie and Michael and then she sees someone who gives her the same uneasy feeling and then the movie ends or somethin like that lol
Versayce Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Terrible movie. Michael completely relegated to a featuring artist, so disppointing. I only liked the opening, Corey's scarecrow mask, and the final fight, but I think they should both have died. Michael should have given his last glorious moment by grabbing Laurie and making her also fall into the shredder. That would have been an iconic ending.

Michael tricked her and she went back into the house ..it was michael's revenge and it was Michael's gotcha moment .. they should have explained why Michael can't die,how michael transformed into his 6 year old self ,laurie said the more he kills the more he transcends ,they should have explained the supernatural elements and they should have made a supernatural story about Michael but no instead we got a christine 2.0 and a romance story, Michael was suddenly weak and he just gave his evil side to Corey!!! like, is it really that hard to make a good story like this the 90 minute bad romance felt like a different movie michael being weak and giving corey his evil side i liked Laurie faking her suicide and some of the kills corey did were pretty original but kills and ends were pretty damn bad .. and i'll also never forgive for giving up the sibling storyline, dumb move. also, kyle should've died.
