oh well at least they did not make the granddaughter or Laurie the killers and they will let this franchise rest.

We are lucky that they did reshoots and they changed the ending cause the original ending was exactly what you described

Just finished my rewatch and yeah, I actually loved it a second time around. I’m shocked at how quickly and dramatically my views have changed, but I personally think this was a great way to end the story they set up in 2018. Can’t wait to own it on 4K.

No matter how much you convince yourself it’s still the absolute worst film of the franchise.

I just rewatced Kills in preparation for Ends and I didn't hate it as much this time. The characters are all brain dead, Laurie doesn't get to do anything, Tommy is annoying as hell, they repeated "40 years" and "Evil dies tonight" way too much, Michael was acting more like The Bride than Michael from the original, but there were some things I liked. It had a good Autumn vibe, the cinematography was nice, I liked the sets like the bar and Michael's original home, kills were brutal, the new scenes that were meant to be from 78 were great even tho they could have used them way more and it was overall pretty entertaining.

I don't have high expectations for Ends, but even if I end up hating it I'll just rewatch the best Halloween timeline H78-H2-H20. I also like H4 and H5 a lot and H6 is cute even if it's a bit ridiculous. I loved H3 the first time I watched it, but on a rewatch I didn't enjoy it as much cause I thought it was way too campy.

erm this was one of the worst movies I have ever watched in my life

Just finished it. It was a good ending but wow, apart from the last 20 minutes the movie was a damn snooze fest…

I’m a HUGE fan of the franchise but it was such a let down. But I’m happy they went with this ending and not with the previous one.

The way this is one of my favorite films in the entire franchise. I respect their desire to do something new and exciting with the series tbh. I even think the original ending is awesome and hope they release it eventually…

Holy ****, that was…something. The best way I can describe it is: imagine if MTV had the rights to Halloween and they made it into a tv show. This movie would be the first and only season. Cut into 2 hours.

this is a perfect description lol

glad i watched it while drunk on peacock

I’m not trying to convince myself of anything, I genuinely enjoyed it when I rewatched. If you don’t like it, that’s fine.

Resurrection will always be the worst entry.

Halloween Ends is top 5. :gaycat4:

There are glimpses of this still left in the movie though (when Corey asks if she survived because she escaped or because Michael let her go), which is why I was expecting it and was (gladly) surprised when they didn't go for it.

No. resurrection is 'entertaining bad' , Halloween ends is just bad and of course not in top 5 .. resurrection had B on cinemascore, Halloween ends had C, people hated it more

You think this is worse than kills? The whole mob thing was the dumbest

If Halloween Ends had ended with the town being done with Michael's **** and jumping him alongside Laurie. The procession would've slayed. :jonny5:

Ends opens with 166k tickets sold in France

way higher than 93k's Kills last year

Good for those people, but my personal opinion / preference isn’t based off what other people like. Ends is top 5 for me.

What a disappointing ending

Monday US/Canada Box Office

Ends (wk 1)- $1.74M (Kills was $2.72M)

Smile (wk 3)- $1.15M

This won't make it to $70M domestic.

So.. I just watched it.

The ending was great, but the whole movie was a boring mess. It really felt like someone said here "MTV bringing its adaption of Halloween". At least the Laurie chapter got its ending and they can let other people bring something fresh and new on the franchise.

i thought Laurie's granddaughter was gonna be the new killer of the franchise tbh, after watching the first 2 movies

Actually I think this is what they were going for originally.

Keep in mind, they scrapped the original script for Halloween Ends somewhere around 2020. The idea was that this trilogy would depict the events of one night on Halloween(which is why Kills felt like a filler because what's literally what it was), but at the very last minute they decided to go in another direction for the third movie, hence the random time jump after Laurie is very clearly not over the idea of Killing Michael to Laurie suddenly not caring about him 4 years later.

Back in 2018 DGG also had an interview where he emphasised that the last scene in Halloween with Allyson holding the knife in the back of the truck was super important, which is a very clear hint at her being the next killer.

That was seriously one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. Wow.

I cannot believe they "ended" the series like this. Actually disgusting tbh

So me and my sister just watched that movie at the cinema and let me tell you we both think it was awesome .

we loved everything about it. Right now we think it might be our favorite Halloween movie.

Ya I think they were dropping hints throughout the movies and as someone above commented on this page, they were going for that route.

Idk if I would've liked a Michael Myers Jr. being her granddaughter as an ending any better though
