I understand what you’re saying, but the biggest flaw with that theory is the fact they told / showed us in the previous film that each time Myers killed, he transcended. Which is why he was able to just get up after the mob stomped him out and butcher them all. He grew stronger. It just doesn’t make sense for him then to retreat to a sewer to hide. You could also see that he became stronger after killing the cop. If you rewatch that scene, he was barely able to stand and then his posture completely changed after stabbing the guy, because he became stronger. It just seems like they forgot what they told / showed us in the previous movie because they had this new idea to play with. I just find it lazy to ignore lore they have set up.

You’re completely right. They for once had the opportunity to serve a coherent storyline that stretches over several movies and flunked it worse than all of those other timelines. :dies:

This felt like a spin off film where they wanted to and should have focused on

Spoiler

society forcing someone like a form of determinism to become the bad guy. They honestly could have had it set after some random major massacre and not use michael myers and I think it would have been just fine.

I’m currently re-watching it just how and it’s weird how much more I’m enjoying it today. I’m picking so many things up I didn’t yesterday and actually appreciating the story they’re telling more. Just goes to show you sometimes need to see things more than once.

Spoiler

I thought in the sewers it was Corey having a flashback when Myers grabbed him. But I think it was Myers seeing his life and that’s why he lets him live. He recognises the evil that lies within him. Which links to the whole evil changes shape. I’m also appreciating more how the town are almost worse than Myers as they’re going after Corey so hard for an accident and pushing him over the edge. It’s actually cool how divisive it is. I feel completely different about it today than I did yesterday.

I’m currently half-way through but I’m actually starting to love this movie and when I left the cinema yesterday I felt so disappointed. I was similar with 2018. I was so excited and felt like it was so underwhelming but when I rewatched it after seeing it at the cinema, I really started to love it.

I’m currently rewatching it and I actually have new theories now. I think Myers does become stronger when he kills, which is why he was such a machine during Kills, but, I think it’s only a temporary thing and he’d have to continuously murder to stay strong. This would explain why he’s weaker and more frail in the sewers but as soon as he gets to kill the cop, he starts to feel stronger again. I’m actually appreciating this film a lot more this second time around and I think I could end up loving it, which is crazy as I was borderline pissed off with it yesterday. :bibliahh:

ykw this entire movie could've been hot garbage if the final showdown between Laurie and Michael would've slayed but they even ****** that up beyond comprehension. I hope everyone involved is embarrassed hihihi

It kinda felt rushed and everything happened too fast.

gonna see this in the theaters again on monday and I will see if my opinion changes for the better or worse, but it's still a 6.5 or maybe even a 7/10 for me. Also I actually want to rewatch this and I've never felt that way for kills, which automatically makes this a better movie

Just finished my rewatch and yeah, I actually loved it a second time around. I’m shocked at how quickly and dramatically my views have changed, but I personally think this was a great way to end the story they set up in 2018. Can’t wait to own it on 4K.

I liked this as a movie but not as a Halloween movie, let alone the end of a trilogy, does that make sense?

Just saw this. I liked the atmosphere. I feel like it's going to be divisive. I actually liked the movie, but there was just one huge problem

There wasn't enough Michael Myers. Like he was barely in the movie.

. Or maybe that's just me.

This being the end was kind of bittersweet? I want to rewatch the entire franchise now.

I need more time to think about it. Overall, I liked it.

The faux outrage.

This movie wasnt even bad, the only thing bad about it was Michael Myers not being in a lot of the scenes till the very end. The showdown between Laurie & Michael could have been more epic though.

I actually like this better than Halloween Kills tbh.:skull: The plot was so wacky in that one with the town & hospital lol.

Yeah I liked this much more than Kills :deadbanana4: I think how you feel about the movie depends on how you feel that Corey is pretty much the main character for half the movie, and I found it interesting *shrug*

I've had a full day to digest and yeah Ends is 100% better than kills but it truly felt like it could have thrived as a spin off. I did enjoy it for what is was but

I think I would have like it more if Corey came back alive during the end credits to somehow show Michael's legacy/power truly transcend onto the next person like they were trying to show at the start. That would have been a cute finale for this saga but also make this franchise continue further even if it's 10+ years from now

me after an hour and twenty minutes had passed and michael was only just then doing anything of consequence

Um… tbh my biggest take away was that they introduced Corey, because they really wanted to address the main criticism of Halloween 2018. Where there was no reason for Laurie, and Micheal to cross paths. :skull: Again I felt in this one Michael didn’t need to go after Laurie, but with Corey it felt like a natural ending.

Also, the last fight was way too short. That was the big finale? :toofunny3:
