Hephaestus Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Played for a couple hours yesterday and wow... I truly didn't expect it to start with a bang like that!

emailmyhearts Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 to whoever is still debating on getting this game because it looks the same as the previous one - do it. It does run on the same engine and a lot of movements and mechanics have been reused but it feels like an upgrade in everything from its predecessor and also I think the story’s really good. I do however miss little Atreus
BNF91 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 (edited) This is so magical. So much more than the first game ever was. Spoiler Loki and Angrboda the encounter with Gryla gave me chills, then I teared up when Atreus and Angrboda raced through Jotunheim. Pure magic. Freya ambushing Kratos in her Valkyrie armour, I jumped Then taking down that massive dragon with Freya in Vanaheim to free her and Kratos and Freya making amends The scale of Asgard and the Wall The Aesir Gods Some of y'all calling it DLC, I have to laugh. You have no idea Edited November 11, 2022 by BNF91

I’m playing the new GoW right now and while it is beautiful (Horizon FW is better ), there’s plenty of things that annoy me: pacing, the handholding for elementary puzzles, the repetitiveness, dull world design with limiting invisible barriers and press a button to walk through a crevice loadings, the stale Uncharted wall jumping, etc. It seems most of the attention went towards the poly count of Kratos and they forgot about innovation elsewhere. TLoU2 felt like a bigger leap from its predecessor and while it was linear, it was much more interactive with the design. Those cinematic 3rd person memes are starting to make some points. Naughty Dog has such a grip on Sony exclusives and they’re all losing their essence following the same formula.
Universo Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 13 hours in and all i can say is that this is ******* incredible Spoiler QUEEN Freya joining me
RunBoyRun Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Anyone have a link to a video that has a little recap of the previous game? I can't remember much of the story lmao

Have you headed to Vanaheim with her yet? All I can say is there are SO many more surprises in store. It really just keeps amping it up with each chapter. I think I am now about 2/3rds done the story. Just incredible. So many surprises and gameplay upgrades. Kratos' development
commander Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Twitter has hyped me so bad ugh. It makes want to go and read fantasy books now and I hate that genre.
BNF91 Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) SCREAMING Spoiler Not Freya's boar that little Atreus shot in 2018 actually being her Vanir advisor in his animal form and him being a story mission companion in Ragnarok now I see why it was so important to her, Atreus really almost killed the one of the very last Vanir authorities in existence lmao Edited November 12, 2022 by BNF91

Chromatica Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Finished the main story, my game of the year tbh
BNF91 Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 (edited) I will complain however about the terrible transmog system! Really should be allowed to transmog any armour as soon as you earn it, like in Forbidden West. Having to fully level up each piece in order to transmog it is absolutely ridiculous. On the final chapter... A masterpiece this is. Heavy spoilers under here, read at your own risk. Spoiler Anyone else realising that Angrboda and Atreus birthed Jormungandr in that scene in Gryla's basement dungeon?! With their hands together in the shape of a heart as they both said "Vekja!" Amazing illustration of mythology. FENRIR! Resurrection! Odin disguising himself as Tyr the WHOLE time then killing Brok I was not prepared. Sindri seems like he is on a warpath now. Poor Sindri The Draupnir Spear is really incredible once you start to upgrade it. Pulling the enemies element from them with it is OP!
