According to Daily Star, an industry source said: “It has been decided that the time is right to bring X Factor back. It’s really exciting. Everyone who will be working on the new series can’t wait to get started.”

Father-of-one Simon is said to have being having secret conversations with a production company about his plans and has reportedly "struck a big-money deal".

However, it's unsure if the new series would air on ITV or perhaps a different channel.

And it'll flop like it was for at least 5 years prior to when it finally died  Talent shows with the format like X Factor just won't work in today's music industry and Simon isn't clued in enough to work around the problems they'd face trying to go up against Tiktok and other social media. No show has the cultural ubiquity X Factor once had and that's okay, but it needs to stay dead.

Exactly, one of the girl from Idol last season went viral and she dropped out of the show and got a record deal.

X factor UK was iconic and it really did have big artists come from it unlike The Voice but I can’t see that happening again. They should try creating a group like they did with Girls Aloud, something a bit different. LM are over so it’s time for a new girl and boy group.

They should center around forming boybands/girl bands like Asian shows do. Solo acts from these shows flop, but bands have a better shot since every member has its own fanbase.
