Russian Sanctions Backfire: NATO Countries Hurt More By Inflation As Result

So, not only did Biden’s sanctions fail to contain Putin and deter him from killing every Ukrainian civilian that he possibly he can, the sanctions have also created a market environment where Western countries bear the brunt of rising costs due to global inflation while China, India, and UAE reap benefits of Russian fuel and Russia enjoys record profits from it.

As if we needed more demonstrations of how exactly Biden is a failed president :priceless:

How so when inflation in western countries is on average between 6 and 9%, where as inflation in Russia is 17%?

Looks like Biden being a Ukrainian asset backfired.

Yet, he is YET AGAIN putting America and the American people last :toofunny3:

The inflation was long coming as a fallout from covid free money printing and supply chain disruptions.

Gas prices are manipulated by the OPEC+ to squeeze the last bits of profit out of natural resources in the next few years as renewables are rapidly replacing them.

The Ukraine war and sanctions contributed to the current environment, but they were certainly not the only or even the main factor. Covid and trillions of free money had a much greater effect

Now I don't want to wade in to your anti-Biden campaign (or whatever intention you had in posting this) but sanctions of this nature don't exactly take effect quickly :deadbanana4:

Lets check back in in six months, when the oil and gas pipes through Siberia will have frozen back to the wellhead because the western companies (Halliburton and Schumberger primarily) have cut all ties to Russia due to the sanctions, at which point Russia will be exporting very little if any oil and gas. Of course Biden's sanctions on Russian oil and gas wouldn't do much while the Europeans (primarily the Germans) are still importing it en masse. I can't speak to the increased revenue in the short term, but I know for certain in the long term that things will come out against the Russians.

The way we’re basically subsidizing Ukraine’s entire existence at American taxpayer’s expense at this point. The constant free money being printed for the Military Industrial Complex’s profiteering while anything related to domestic spending is “inflationary” and “not worthwhile”... :rip:

Becaue inflation hurts normal people and not corporations. Corporations in both countries are thriving while normal people suffer. The difference being that Putin won't be affected by his people being upset while upset Americans basically ensure Biden continues to be wholly unpopular, making his base upset to where they stay home in 2024 and engaging Republicans into a huge red wave. Which makes it all pointless knowing Trump in 2024 will simply empower Putin to do whatever he wants anyway.

Moderate Democrats have decided Ukraine is worth more than winning elections in America, which they can do, but the irony of them talking about reckless spending and bad policy when screaming "Putin's Price Hike" won't stop most voters from blaming Biden shows that centrism always ends in failure.

Could have had M4A with a progressive but instead we get inflation and Dems letting free school lunches expires and child hungry re-peak after temporarily solving it lol.

Sanctions don't have that quick of an effect. The inflation we're currently suffering is the effect of the pandemic.

These tweets  scream tell me  you don't know about trade and economics without telling me you don't know about trade and economics.

Supporting Ukraine is like an investment. Russia should not be allowed to succeed because then it will not stop and the money America will have to spend on a wider war would be a lot more mouthwatering. Think of it as a discount, not as money robbed from you

Meanwhile Russians are paying $15 for a literal cube of butter, fighting each other over sugar in supermarkets, hoarding tampons, and are capped at how much money they can transfer into foreign currency. You Russian shills on this website are the lowest of the low

But Russia's inflation is still double that, so how on earth does the lower inflation hurt nato more? Make it make sense please

This is a fallacy because America is not indebted to anyone to involve themselves in matters that are simply not their business.

Diplomacy and negotiations were the only viable solution and now Dems will face the burden of their adventurism at home because "Putin's Price Hike" is not effective sloganeering to most Americans.

Chile lemme hide :thing: The prices were gonna rise against everyone who doesn't want Ukrainians in concentration camps anyway and it's not just the US that's bearing this burden. I think you have to look past the short term impact and see what's at stake and how strengthening ties with Russia would just embolden Republicans

This thread is extremely dumb. Russia's economy is collapsing due to sanctions. Russian car sales plummeted by 83.5% in May alone. Their aviation industry is gone.

You are a disgusting genocide supporter. There is very strong bipartisan support for aiding Ukraine because it greatly benefits the U.S on top of being a morally right thing to do. The far-left is as repugnant as MAGA.

What are you confused on?

The goal of the sanctions was to hurt Russian corporations- that failed.

Now they are only hurting not only Russian citizens but citizens everywhere due to gas and energy being a global market.

Biden hurt himself because he is now going to be voted out by a populace upset that they can't afford to drive to work anymore.

You can try to spin it as 4d chess or whatever makes you feel better, but if the goal of elected officials is to make sure they remain electable and stay in office, this adventurism into a conflict with Russia has failed spectacularly. Biden's approvals have tanked and his own ideology is pissing off his base.

Whatever you believe America has helped achieve in Ukraine won't matter as Trump is going to have won in 2024 and help undo all of it.

The sanctions were promised to be aimed at oligarchs and not the civilians who have nothing to do with Putin’s war. Not only are Putin and his oligarchs completely fine, but by hurting Russian civilians it is creating a rally-around-the-flag effect, hardening Putin’s domestic support while NATO countries’ ruling parties are suffering and losing support. In the US, for example, Biden’s party is about to be routed in a historic midterm loss in less than 5 months as inflation has caused gas prices to go up by more than double.
