Just finished watching it and overall is a fun musical adaptation.

Spoiler

•The library lady is a fun addition character.
•The Dance sequences were great.

However I’m disappointed with

Spoiler

Not including the iconic scenes of Matilda going to Trunchbull’s house to get the doll with and w/o Ms. Honey. These scenes are very much loved by everyone who have seen the first film. :biblio:

Are you trolling, or do you genuinely not know the difference between race and nationality? :rip:

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it!

I didn't realise the viral Tik Tok of the children dancing was from this :bibliahh: I really want to watch this but for some reason won't be on Netflix here until summer :rip:

The thing is, this movie is based on Matilda: the Musical which based on the 1988 book Matilda and not a remake of Matilda the 1996 film.

Also, the doll plot story was made specifically for the 1996 movie, it wasn't on the original 1988 Matilda Book.

---------

Also, not the UK ethnicity and nationality debate when they're clearly different. The current UK Prime Minister is the best example of how you differentiate both. :deadbanana2:

I loved this. The parents characters could've been handled better (I just thought their final scene in the 96 movie was perfectly executed so it wasn't going to live up to it anyway) but overall it was great

Kinda impressive how they managed to hold their own with such beloved characters.

I loved it?!?! Felt so many emotions throughout. This easily stands on its own compared to the film. Both excellence :clap3:

This was a really fun adaptation. I appreciated the changes from the 90s version and the musical performances were fun. Production design & cinematography was gorgeous with the use of the colors in the beginning.

Emma Thompson was a great scary Trunchbull that chewed up the scenery and I loved Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey,  she got to my heart :heart2: Matilda was captivating and the addition of the librarian was cute too.
