the trains are already so ******* stuffed and the summer break hasn’t even started… don’t get me wrong, it’s a great thing! But taking the train is going to be even more annoying now.

Considering last December a single ride in Berlin was €3 :rip:

Why not make it 18€ for six months? That way it would be much more efficient.

That's why I stopped using it altogether and use my bike for literally everything.

3€ for one ride or 80€ for the whole month?! I don't think so.

1 city has a decent network (NYC)

5 cities have bad networks, but existing to a degree a person could theoretically live car free if they planned. (Chicago, DC, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco)

Beyond that pretty much every other city requires you to have a car or use a bus network which has been poorly funded and with poor frequency.

as for intercity travel, unless you are going between DC and Boston (DC-Phili-NYC-Bos); Chicago and Milwaukee, or Portland and Seattle, you need to take a car or a bus (if that is even available)

SPD and The Green literally are ruining the country. They don't know what their people need. :hoetenks: 9 Euro Ticket for the whole Germany? Who will pay for that?
We miss Merkel!

Not for long distance train

This is to boost the travel revenue if anything

Yeah, I never ever needed a car in my life here in Germany (I'm 32) Besides maybe moving but you just pay someone with a truck.

Plus European cities are built to be walkable. That's what the US is lacking. They are built for cars only.

Ensuring people have access to affordable transport is one of the best things any country can do in a cost of living crisis which has seen costs of fuel rise exponentially. It also encourages wider use of public transport which is great for the environment.
