Most Googled Countries on Earth

Top-Googled-Countries.jpg

Arrows point the direction in which more searches are made. If Country A has an arrow towards Country B, then Country B is the most searched country by people in Country A. Also the size of those circles indicates the volume of overall searches.

USA is unshakably at the centre of this map and is by far the largest circle. Other major regional powers are Russia, France, UK, India, Japan, Germany, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Italy, and Turkey.

You can think of this map in terms of the Solar System. With the US as the Sun in the middle, the regional behemoths like France, India etc orbiting around the Sun, and smaller countries as moon-like satellites orbiting those other regional powers.

Is your country the Sun, one of the Planets, or just a Satellite?

No matter how our manager Bolsonaro try to sabotage us Brazil will always be a main pop country! This year we're changing labels/manager so we'll comeback fast to the top of the charts the following years.

Well The US interferes in almost every single international business that is not of them so of course it’s going to be the biggest.

Most people might search to see what atrocity comes next.

These OUSHs :rip: I think that people mostly google the usa bc pop culture. If you are watching a series you might google the location of the main places and stuff like that.

Finland and Norway probably google Sweden the most since its the country most people of these two want to live in. Same with the countries on Spain and the old French territories with France.

The Great Firewall prevents us from knowing what they "google", so it's not included in the map.

I'd imagine it'd be the second biggest circle otherwise

not sure about that one. Egypt and SA look like they are obsessed with each other more than the US, so there's no outward arrow

Interesting how there isn't a prominent centre of gravity in sub-Saharan Africa. Even Nigeria, which is the largest and most important state in the region, doesn't have any arrows pointing towards it.

Nigeria not having any circle pointing towards it is very suspect considering how much influence the country has on the continent, economically and both in terms of pop culture:katie:

I'd think it'd have a similar presence to SA with most of the West African countries like with the SADC countries for SA.

Ye you're actually right. Though the article mentions that China is a special case. There's no google in China officially.
