P!nk Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 I mean I don’t care for either but I think ROP will do better numbers but who knows? I’ll sleep well either way.
Feanor Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 I hope both shows continue to succeed like this

We have HOTD US numbers vs ROP global numbers. Quote Viewership winner As Variety notes, “a fair comparison is nearly impossible to draw here” because we are comparing self-reported global numbers from Amazon to HBO’s streaming data from the United States only. Until more viewership data is released, a clear winner can’t be decided. One thing is clear though, both shows are already winning in their own right, with both breaking premiere viewership records on their respective platforms. Exactly and fans of both are winning hard because we have two massive fantasy shows thriving alongside one another!
Rigalo Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 (edited) Those PAYOLA fake news numbers for ROP or whatever it’s called HOTD RISE UP!!! WE MAY HAVE LOST THE BATTLE BUT WE WILL WIN THE WAR!! im joking of course lol but I really am kinda shocked by the ROP numbers. No one I know in real life has talked about it whereas I’ve discussed HOTD episodes with several friends and peers Edited September 4, 2022 by Rigalo

I don't think its fair to compare in the first place cause Amazon has more than 200m subscribers, and HOD's numbers is partly cable which plays on schedule. But yeah these are massive numbers for ROP because its pure streaming for one day, which means it will double, triple, grow incrementally per day.
orange22 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 I’m sure those numbers are accurate from Amazon

Hector Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 What the Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that the above poster neglected: Nielsen “reach” figures — a measure of people who watched at least six minutes of a given program — for House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power are somewhat similar. The Rings of Power holds an edge among streaming viewers only, with 12.6 million people in the U.S. checking out the series over its first four days, compared to 10.6 million for House of the Dragon. Adding in viewing of the latter on HBO’s main cable channel, however, brings the total for House of the Dragon to 14.5 million; on-demand viewers and those who watch on HBO’s multiplex channels aren’t counted. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/rings-of-power-no-1-streaming-rankings-aug-29-sept-4-1235230284/ So House Of The Dragon won either way you look at it.
fridayteenage Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 i was told "NO ONE CARES ABOUT HBO numbers, only streaming numbers matter! No one watches TV! It's 2022!" Also, that figure is about the number of people who watched 6 minutes, which...okay.
