Gesamtkunstwerk Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Which are some films/shows that has high ratings on IMBD, RT and so on, but you don't understand or agree with ? Me and my friend used to watch Lucifer because it was so bad it was funny, and I was shocked to find out that it has 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. The dialogue, the acting and the writing cracks me up, Tom Ellis should be glad he's hot What about you, what movie/film taught you to never trust ratings ?
magazine Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Anything with Tom Holland getting high ratings is highly suspicious Except fot "The Impossible"
Cutthroat Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I don’t know how the new horror movie X has 95% on RT as it’s genuinely one of the worst horror movies I’ve ever seen. I’m also a massive horror fan, but nothing about it was good, which is a shame as the trailer made it look like it was going to be fun.
EdgeofTeeth Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I can only amount the high 80s/90s on RT for Marvel movies to Disney payola tbh

I screamed so many times. HOW does it have such a high rating? 4 minutes ago, EdgeofTeeth said: I can only amount the high 80s/90s on RT for Marvel movies to Disney payola tbh These are SO weird. I don't know how they all get so many praise. They are basically the same movie each and every time.
TheOnlyOne Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 People rate Breaking Bad as if it’s the pinnacle of television and it’s nothing of the sort.
Oceania Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 (edited) 'Breaking Bad' and 'Game of Thrones' on IMDB. The latter especially, when even the most diehard fans agree that half of it was mediocre-to-trash. Series in general have it way easier than movies on IMDB tho. Edited May 24, 2022 by Oceania
politeone Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 A lot of Marvel movies should be in the 70s on rotten tomatoes IMDb is a very reflector of this

boys Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Spiderman No Way Home being in the 90's on rotten tomatoes is hilarious to me personally
Liafen Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Heartstopper tbh. Just finished it, it was great but from 100% on RT I expect masterful brilliance.
Happylittlepunk Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Dune was a terrible movie yet the ratings for it is nothing but pure propaganda.

Those derivative formulaic paint by numbers cookie cutter toy commercials deserve the same ratings that Netflix action films get. 30-60%.
chester Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Thor: Ragnarok. An absolute disgrace with humor only a 10 year old would find epic.

Guest Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Game of thrones by far, you can see the quality starts to drop in the middle os season 4, slightly, and then it's downhill from there, but they still got really high ratings
Broken Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 The first Wonder Woman movie, Shazam! and The BOMB Squad.

See, I really enjoyed Knives Out and Ready or Not. Especially Ready or Not, so I understand their acclaim. I just didn’t enjoy X at all. I kept waiting and hoping it was going to become good, but it just didn’t in my eyes.
Smarticle Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Annihilation (2018) with 88% RT score by critics the audience score is 66% and even on IMDb it's 6.8/10
