Scary to see how many 18+ LGBTQ+ ppl are acting like this is deep stuff just because it's diverse casting. It's cute for its intended audience of teens but the notion it's 'realistic' because it's neutered & PG is backwards. All the queers I knew at that age were like something out of Skins. LSD, self-harm, ED, smoking blunts, shoplifting, pills, binge drinking, stick & poke tattoos, going on dating apps underage. This show is such a sanitized depiction because it's aspirational, not honest. They're trying to give young ppl role models. It's literally for kids. If you're an adult, you should've grown past the need for this, seriously Just because that’s your experience it doesn’t mean it applies to everyone. I never did any of those things and still haven’t. LGBT people can also have a cute love story without any of those toxic things you mentioned. And there’s nothing wrong with being an adult and aspiring to have something healthy without the trash you mentioned. K bye for now, Sunshine. <3

People don't have to be miserable all the time. I watched both this and Euphoria (which is full of the stuff you mentioned) and they're both great on their own right.

If you're an adult, you should've grown past the need for this, seriously Who said it was realistic? It is very clearly a romance show that is fiction, depicting the ideal LGBT scenario in high school. The straights have a million shows like this that are clearly heightened and exaggerated situations in high school, why can’t the gays have a show like that too? we need those shows that depict all the struggles of being LGBT that you described… but not ALL of them need to be super depressing, traumatic, and sad either. We’re allowed to have some wholesome and super optimistic content too. Sometimes television is just meant to be escapist and fantastical, which is what I view this show as. Anyone who thinks it’s entirely accurate has fallen for a farce, but from what I’ve seen, most people already know it’s not that, and in fact, some people are watching this because it’s exactly what they DIDN’T get and it makes them happy to see it play out differently.

(im not complaining though, ive had it with the aids stories)
