Pon De Replay was blocked by Mariah's We Belong Together while 1 2 Step was blocked my Mario's Let Me Love You.

Also Riri might have more of a celeb status than Cici nowadays but 1, 2 Step is definitely more iconic than PDR imo as its one of the songs that you can't skip over when talking about the 00s while Riri has way better contenders for her 00s reign.

There are a lot of Rihanna songs that I love but Pon De Replay is not one of them.

1,2 Step is a classic. The R&B pop vibes it gives, the Missy Elliot rap, and everything about the song is so mid 2000s in the best way possible. Pon De Replay aged better as a song, but I like 1,2 Step better
