ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted May 9, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 9, 2022 Great numbers! Hope it holds up if only because I want Marvel to give Elizabeth another film!
ALA Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I'm gonna guess 187x2.3 multiplier for a $430m total. The next 2 weekends are dead so it hopefully it holds better than that.
EnoughSaid Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 The idea that anyone would try to downplay these numbers is ridiculous. People keep raising the ceiling for what they expect when in actuality any way you cut it 185M is a mega smash Things like No Way Home or End Game come few and far in between what do people expect
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I still don’t see how people are downplaying this success ? y’all do realize even if it has a major drop next weekend, it has 3 weeks of Summer before another blockbuster. It’s still will be the biggest Marvel movie of phase 4 excluding Spider-Man for obvious reasons. Wether it’s 10th or 11th biggest opening of all time, it’s still a huge success that only 9 other films have achieved
tiagol88 Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 This will be making money in a few more days. It could leave theaters after the 2nd weekend and it would be a hit already.

We should get everyone's predictions for final grosses (DOM/OS) and see who ends up being the closest! I'm betting around $1.080 billion. Similar to Captain Marvel and Civil War.
Jude Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 The people downplaying its success are just pure haters and delusional. It's already a successful movie so whatever success is going to be added to this is just a bonus.
Haus-Of_Mck Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Only ATRL would consider this a flop or make it seem like an underperformance WANDA WON
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted May 10, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 10, 2022 I mean anyone who expected NWH numbers was just being delirious or purposefully trolling. Happy for Lizzie obviously
BNF91 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 For the 143rd time, nobody is downplaying the success my god The box office is being discussed, and the fact that it had a weekend multiplier worse than Batman vs Superman is a very important factor in determining final gross.. the opening weekend is still huge. Some of you need to slow down and read first. This is a discussion thread for the numbers, not just a "slay Wanda slay " thread
justjess Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 So amazing! Hopefully this will get Wanda her own movie!!!

This is a discussion thread for the numbers, not just a "slay Wanda slay " thread a lot of people online are downplaying this film tho. even in this thread. the film will make 1 billion within the next month. it's pretty much guaranteed. as it's taking a Age of ultron trajectory, Covid pandemic is pratically over domestically, and the time of year plays a pretty huge part as School's ending and summer movie season starts. BNF91 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Good Monday hold (suggesting slight Mother's day effect as Sunday hold was ugly) with -65% and $13.6M, back on par with Civil War and AoU. But then a not so good Tuesday drop estimated right now at $12M. Hopefully it goes up. Typically, even on opening week Tuesdays, blockbusters will see increases if not stay flat. I'm think a -63% drop this weekend. $70M. It's gonna totally mirror Civil War it seems.
Dialamba Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 People are just saying it’s an underperformance just because it’s a marvel movie. It will probably surpass DS1
BNF91 Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) $8.9M Wednesday. Literally tracking identical to Civil War right now ($9.1M Wed) Interesting to see how similar the 2nd weekend drop will be. Edit: Actual update is $9.1M, lil increase nice Edited May 12, 2022 by BNF91

BNF91 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 $7.7M Thursday, -15% from Wed. Not the cutest drop before weekend 2. Falling behind Civil War and also now The Batman ($8.4M). Thinking a $65-68M 2nd wknd.
BNF91 Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 (edited) Oof. Friday wasn't cute, at all. $17M Saturday bump should be decent though. Headed to a $60-63M weekend (-65-68%) Falling further behind Civil War and Batman. Edited May 14, 2022 by BNF91
