I saw it today. I think they did what they could with what they got. It’s not perfect but all her iconic moments are included, the performances were great and the drug use was kept to a minimum and done with tact. Honestly I wish the movie was longer. Miss Mama went thru a lot I can’t fully blame her for her mistakes

It wasn’t ~bad~ but it had that Wikipedia article brought to life feel that a lot of biopics have these days. I feel there was a little too much time spent on the performances and the story was pretty lacklustre. Although visually it looked great at times and the actress was really good. I don’t know.

A whitney biopic should of been handled with care like the queen and elvis biopics where.

i haven't seen this yet but aretha's movie actually worked because she herself chose jhud to play her, so it felt genuine,

so i don't know about this one.

I feel like some of these celebrity life stories would be better as mini-series. The film runtime and format limits what they can do.
