I swear ATRL is the only place supporting that psycho. Justice has been served.

This case has shown that some women can use the #MeToo umbrella to their advantage. Cancelling and demonising men as soon as women open their mouths – without letting the court verify and review all the facts and evidence - can be unfairly damaging and defamatory.

It's not a setback to stop believing all women simply because they are women. It's the way forward to have a fair trial to determine whether someone's statement is correct. Secondly, not all women will suffer a similar fate as Amber, because thankfully, not all women are like her.

JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED.

She is a pervert who tried to destroy him for her own sadistic pleasure, and she failed miserably, yet rightfully so...

Seriously i don't understand how people are celebrating Depp win when he IS a verified ABUSER.:rip:Amber is not a saint but you guys acting like Johnny was 100% innocent on this. You guys are supporting an abuser not matter how you spin it.

The gag is the US jury agreed that Depp is an abuser, but awarded him because they also agree that the op-ed damaged his career. Yet people are calling her a liar. :rip:

I'm not an Amber stan and definitely don't think she's fully innocent, but people here pretending he is is just exhausting.

Again, you’re too focused on being right to even try to have a conversation.

Again, I have no focus on being right; you're literally just trying to push an absurd talking point.

Understand that when someone mentions “white feminism” it’s about intersectionality, which means it’s related to other women not men.

Whiteness allows white women advantages over black women in ways explicitly linked to both their race and gender; you're not saying anything illustrative. It would be white feminism for Amber to have won and act as though it was revolutionary for all women (it wouldn't be because most women do not have the resources to take their abuser to court); you can even say white feminism is Heard being given a platform via her celebrity to write about her experiences while so many are still stuck in the shadows.

Emphasizing how people believe white women and not WOC is a moot point when the WW you're angry over is not, in this situation, being believed over a WOC. As you all are reminding us - she's not believed by many, who instead think she's an ~ugly c*** b****~ and who support her cool movie star white husband instead. What's it called again when society has a natural bias to inherently believe white straight men over everyone else?

White feminism is not "WW I don't like did thing I don't like", especially with said thing you didn't like being the relationship she had where she was overpowered by her very rich abusive white husband.

Literally my first post in this thread was calling Amber toxic and saying, from my own experiences growing up with decades of domestic violence, that victims bare the burden of leaving or become culpable to the environment. I cheered that they never had children together for that inevitable child's sake.

I don't particularly like her nor do I even like Marvel movies. I largely take issue with the suggestion by you and other Depp fanatics that 'improper' reactions to DV are itself worse than DV. I reject your attempt to excuse those who initiate the DV to begin with. You're removed from the realities of DV. Perfect victims don't exist. People hit back. People throw insults back. People degrade and put down people who hit them or threaten them.

That you want to rally support to exonerate Depp of what is objectively his abusive behavior is where we have issues, because any person who's been abused by a man knows the type of man Depp is just from seeing videos where he throws his weight around slamming cabinets and kicking **** and breaking **** all to show that he can. That he constantly physically threatened Amber and sexually terrorized her is not shocking when seeing who he is and how he acts.

So I took the time to read all the late pages and I can’t believe people are siding with that liar and insane woman. It’s exactly what she deserves

Congrats Johnny!

I had faith in the jury that they would be able to see her for the lying narcissist abuser that she is. It's insane that members in here call others misogynistic for not being on her side when the facts show clearly who's at fault. Where is @suburbannature? Hope you're doing ok!

The fact that you are acting like women had a leg up on men until now in the justice system for abuse cases, that has been “set right” by this case :deadbanana4:

As if the entire fabric of society, let alone the justice system, isn’t skewed against women who have been abused and try to seek justice in any tangible fashion :deadbanana4:

Y’all have ******* LOST your minds :rip:

This pushback against women rights is very similar to the pushback against LGBTQ+ rights we're experiencing. The "anti-gay agenda" fighters, if only the gheys could see that.

There will come a in time when people will look back at this trial and really question their judgment and behavior.

More people are celebrating this than the downfall of Epstein, Weinstein or Cosby…

Most people are incapable of seeing beyond their own noses. They don't understand everything is connected.

This case has set back any progress made by DV and SA advocates in the past 10 years and will have tremendous ramifications for years to come. The damage is done. There's no turning back now. By the time people realize the mistake they made, it'll be too late.

These are the same people who didn’t see an issue with Elon Musk, who is the literal embodiment of Lex Luthor, posting a meme disparaging pride culture regarding corporations (that was made by and for queer people), as if his edgelord alt-right followers wouldn’t fully just take that homophobic dog-whistle and run with it :rip:

There are also members who fully support JK Rowling’s descent into TERFdome and spread anti-trans propaganda on here.

Roe is getting shut down, and #MeToo is getting ripped to shreds. And anyone with a brain can see Obergefell is next, maybe even Lawrence too. Maybe then some of the people in this thread will care when it actually affects them, even though women’s and queer rights are at this very moment being pushed back 50 years before our very eyes :ace:

Your comment reminds me of Martin Niemöller's famous phrase.

Quote

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

If the gheys here think Conservatives and Alt-righters will stop at destroying women's rights and the #MeToo movement, let me tell them...

She lied in court, got exposed for it and also got rightfully judged for it.

Stop white knighting a LIAR that’s using #metoo to get away with her bullshit.

congrats on getting played by her,  I guess. :clap3:

I’m sure your unbiased self is aware that he did as well, so I am left curious as to why you think only she should be called out for it.

Yet you have not called him out once in the past few days for things you constantly call Amber out for. Let me re-check the definition of unbiased again…

Don't waste your time with that user...

Depp as a matter of fact LIED 83 times under cross-examination. Some examples:

Quote

Depp claims the monster is Ambers word about her perception of Depp on substances or not. Depp claims its her click word. Claims its her word.

LIE: 2012 text to Elton John “I would have been swallowed up by the monster if not for you” Depps use of the word here confirms another lie.

Depp denies using the word monster.

LIE: Text from Jerry Judge April 26th 2015: “Lovely seeing you so happy” Depp response: “All Ihad to do was send the monster away and lock him up”

Depp denies sister concerned or privy to his drug use.

LIE: UK TRIAL Depp says his sister spoke many times about his drug use since he was a child.

Depp claims he was never abusive to Vanessa Paradis or any woman.

LIE: Text Elton John calling Vanessa and “EX *****” and “French Extortionist.” UK testimony from Ellen Barkin in which he threw a bottle at her head.

Depp said he wasn’t jealous of who she spend time with when filming.

LIE: On the night before the Boston plane flight he agreed in UK transcripts he likely had a heated discussion about a scene with James Franco. He agrees he thought they had an affair.

Depp does not agree he was drunk on the flight.

LIE: UK Transcripts Depp said “Sure” when asked if he had done drink and drugs before and during the Boston flight.

Again Denies Amber supportive of Depp getting sober and clean.

LIE: Text to Amber’s mother. “I couldn’t have made it without her” “I wouldn’t be alive” “It was Amber and Amber only who got me through this”

Those are just 7 out of 83 lies. I could keep going, but you can click on the link and see for yourself. The transcripts of the UK trial are available HERE if you want to check for yourself. Of course, Depp was counting people being too dumb to compare and contrast the things he said here and in the UK trial.
