It's doing zero damage do Depp that hasn't already been done, it's doing the opposite: painting him as sympathetic, charismatic, likable. He's said several times that he doesn't really care about Turd's money or Turd getting punished and would have liked to leave her behind and move on years ago. It's all about the opportunity for his moment of redemption and he's winning in the court of public opinion. Winning the trial would only be the cherry on top and the real goal is making it acceptable to book him for movies again and that wouldn't be achieved by "just settling it".

Even if he's winning in the court of public opinion, if he loses this lawsuit, after losing in the UK, no studio will ever hire him again. We saw what happened right after he lost the case in the UK: he was forced to resign from his Fantastic Beasts role. If he loses again, regardless of what the GP thinks, it won't look good for a studio to hire someone who's been found to be a "wife-beater" twice in a court of law. This lawsuit can only hurt Depp. It won't help him whatsoever.

We shall see what happens, but nothing can hurt him at this point. His situation literally can't worsen. :dies:

After losing in the UK, he sealed his fate. The better situation would have been to just ignore those articles. Without a court ruling, it was a he said/she said situation, and he was starting to turn things around in the court of public opinion, but after losing those in a court of law (a scenario that will likely repeat itself now), it became more of a grey situation. I mean, the UK judge ruled that calling him "a wife beater" was substantially true. There's nothing more damning than that. His appeal was also rejected, so that ruling will stay with him FOREVER.

Studios don't hire on public opinion, especially on one regarding domestic issues. He will/won't get hired if his movies are flopping not whether he wins or not. Protracted court hearings is a show/entertainment for the public, which bleeds into his image, which factors into whether studios want to hire either one of them or not.

Nobody cares about these trials except tabloid consumers.

Sure. I guess that's why he's been sacked from Fantastic Beasts and why Warner Brothers is in panic mode regarding Ezra Miller, etc. :toofunny2:

He was sacked from Fantastic Beasts because a court of law in the UK ruled that he was a "wife-beater." It had nothing to do with public opinion at that point. It was a court ruling. In the case of Ezra, he's already in deep trouble with the law and has been arrested for assault. In both cases, there's more than public perception; it's actually the judicial system getting involved and that DOES influence the way studios respond.

Girl I am referring to this case, that him winning public opinion would help him get booked again. It won’t.

If that is enough motive for him then more power to him.

I still think he should settle to correct his career.

It's all the same damn thing. The only reason they fire or don't hire those people anymore is due to the backlash they'd receive if they did. Otherwise they wouldn't care. So it does go back to public opinion. Plus, there's tons of blacklisted talent Hollywood is staying away from even if they haven't been tried in a court of law because they know it's not worth it.

It’s so weird to me that people aren’t weirded out by Johnny dating and abusing a woman who was 25 when they met. He was a grandpa.

She was actually only 22. And he was 45.:deadbanana:

This woman's career is without a doubt over at this point. :clap3:

According to IMDB, it isn't. She's set to star in two films: In the Fire, which is filiming right now; and Run Away with Me, which is in pre-production. Her career in big budget productions may be over after Aquaman 2 though.

If Depp loses this lawsuit WB will NOT fire Amber Heard. Look at how the UK trial resulted in HIM being fired from Fantastic Beasts while Amber stayed on Aquaman 2.

It's shocking how people defend him  :rip: he will lose again.

It’s clear he’s losing, but his fans are caught in an echo chamber confirming what they want to believe.

IKR

Basically he is just a big star with millions of delulu fans who supports him no matter what, it's not about who is the abuser or the victim for them.

And tbh, not even he himself wants to prove her as an abuser. He wants to destroy her career just like she did with his. He wants to humiliate her in public by damaging her image with these endless law suits for the rest of her life.

This man is disgusting. He deserves the worst.

I honestly don't believe she destroyed his career. He did more damage to himself by being intoxicated on set, constantly late. And on top of that, attacking a crew member (punching him in the ribs). His OWN ERRATIC behavior caused him more damage than anything Ms. Heard said or did. He's just really upset because he ruined his own legacy with his terrible behavior so now he wants revenge. I don't know who was more at fault for how toxic their relationship became, but for sure he's the vindictive and blood-thirsty one in this situation.

Good thing court cases aren’t decided by how many men’s rights activists and horny wine moms like your posts on twitter.
