He should be worried about that Tesla racial discrimination lawsuit while he's tweeting about a company being "woke".

Elon Musk has always been an idiot that's given too much credit. Calling Netflix, of all companies, woke for having minority characters is cringe but is fodder to a growing base of Americans, sadly. He originally had more "liberal" appeal because people (falsely) believe he is fighting climate change. But I think people are starting to lose faith in him on that front fortunately. But he is doubling down on his appeals to the far/alt-right.

Let's just say I'm very thankful he legally is not allowed to run for president.

Netflix lost users because they increased prices while the economy is going to ****. That’s it, full stop. He’s doing the typical delusional right wing extremist thing of blaming financial issues on minorities / “liberal” values.

If “wokeness” were killing Netflix, (1) they wouldn’t have rallied so hard in favor of programming percieved to be anti-trans and (2) “woke” programming like Bridgerton wouldn’t be SMASHING on the platform.

This is a good point. OITNB is probably one of Netflix's most "woke" original shows (e.g., tackling the prison industrial complex, queer representation, the trans experience in a women's prison, socioeconomic injustice, corporate corruption, the cycle of poverty and carcerality, etc.), especially with how long it is compared to other original series they've had. That show is also one of Netflix's biggest hits of all time. It was its second original series (debuting in 2013 shortly after House of Cards). So it's the show that helped kick-start Netflix's original programming and it was a massive hit despite its relative "wokeness".

But, Elon Musk and his audience aren't interested in discussing reality so not that that matters.

His response doesn't even make sense and didn't the lost of subscribers was due to the sharing policy they implement or so?

Better services are emerging. At some point, they were gonna flop. It's extremely expensive for the lack of quality :sorry:

The way he definitely wants to be the next US president :deadbanana2: Keep blocking his deal, please!

What does this even mean? Because some of their (poorly-written and acted) shows have gays? :skull:

The way white men use the word woke is a perfect example of a pattern they've long established throughout History. Their propensity to essentially take something that was coined by and for another culture that makes them uncomfortable, and literally colonize it by making it a word used to ridicule and attack what makes them uncomfortable.

I never cared for the word but woke was originally meant to mean a person who's come into an awareness concerning racial issues and other injustices in the system. The fact white men have taken it and began using it to attack any form of representation in the media speaks volumes.

We're never going to have true progress with a group of people who would rather muddy the definitions of petty terms because they're uncomfortable with them, rather than discuss the real time injustices in our country. Ironically, in true form, rather than come up with their own thing, they've opted to steal once again. I could literally write a book about this.

He's an idiot, his fanboys are idiots and so is anyone agreeing with him.

The essays of people pretending that Netflix hasn't gone full lazy woke  :deadbanana2:

It probably has more to do with the (overall) low quality and lazy writing but pretending this isn't a problem :deadbanana2:

He probably doesn't mean it that way since he's trash, though.

It has nothing to do with wokeness. It's because Netflix has been raising their prices and removing content that people liked.

I hope he gets hit by a bus and doesn't make it.

There’s nothing woke about all the low quality reality show dreck that Netflix has been producing

What’s so woke about their recent content? :deadbanana4:

He's right. People here are not up to intellect to know what he means and what Netflix has been doing behind the scenes to warrant his comment. People have been saying that about Netflix for months now. :swan:

His pandering to his followers! It's an easy talking point for him to use to please them.
