CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Quote

We’re the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we’re taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling ****, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.

125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. We exist to change this.

We do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don’t die by suicide.

But we can't do it alone. Stand with us.

Check out the charity's website at the orange link above!

If this charity speaks to you, please feel free to share it on social media, ATRL, or with anyone you know who might be able to support! If you have the means to contribute to CALM, donations are always appreciated!

Brother Wolf

Quote

Founded in 2007, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue enhances the lives of companion animals and the people who love them. We work across county lines with the goal of saving the greatest number of lives possible through strategic, creative, and impactful programming.

Through adoption and pet retention programs, a low-cost mobile spay and neuter clinic, lifesaving shelter transfer partnerships and extensive volunteer and foster networks, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue impacts the lives of thousands of animals each year in the Western North Carolina region.

We operate an adoption center in the heart of Asheville where you can meet your next best friend. On our campus you’ll also find our thrift store and retail store whose proceeds help fund our lifesaving programs. We are a community-based organization and rely on the generosity of our donors to continue our impactful work for animals as we receive no government funding. We know that together we can create a kinder world. Join us!

Americares: Ukraine Response

Quote

Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that saves lives and improves health for people affected by poverty or disaster.

For more than 40 years, we have responded rapidly and effectively to the needs of our local partners and their communities.

Americares Ukraine response is currently supporting over 50 partner organizations across four countries including Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. Americares is helping these organizations meet the health needs of children and adults affected by the crisis through donations of medicines, medical supplies and emergency funding. Our teams have expertise in coordinating large-scale shipments of medicine and relief supplies and mobilizing emergency medical teams in crisis situations. Our immediate response is focused on the delivery of critically needed medicine and supplies. To date, Americares has shipped or delivered more than 130 tons of medicine and relief supplies to multiple partners responding in Ukraine and still more shipments are underway or planned. We had made the commitment to deliver 100 tons of medical aid to Ukraine within 90 days of the start of the invasion, and that goal has been achieved and surpassed.

Save the Music Foundation

Quote

Our mission is to help students, schools, and communities reach their full potential through the power of making music. As one of the leading music foundations in the United States, we support our partner communities in three ways:

We invest in schools

We partner with public school districts to donate grants in the form of new musical instruments, technology, equipment, and resources for music teachers and school leaders. Grants provide opportunities for schools to jumpstart and support their music programs.

We Support Teachers

As part of our grants for music education, we support music teachers with special professional development opportunities and long-term program support. We also provide an online resource center for anyone to explore!

We Advocate For Music Education

We address the importance of public school music education programs because we believe music should be part of every young student’s well-rounded education.

IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare)

Ukraine Emergency Grant

Quote

What makes IFAW different from the rest? We believe individual animals matter in conservation. Our experts work with local communities and people just like you to rescue individual animals, conserve at-risk species, and safeguard natural habitats. Together, we’re building a better future for animals. One where they can thrive and coexist alongside humans.

If you want to help make a difference for Ukrainian refugees and their pets, IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) is often named as the best animal charity to donate to.

Since the war started, IFAW responders, veterinarians, and partners have worked nonstop helping Ukrainian refugees keep and care for their pets.

We're also facilitating animal rescue missions in Ukraine to translocate lions, tigers, and other animals to zoos in neighboring countries.

- 2014: Russia invades and IFAW begins supporting Ukraine animal shelters

- Feb 2022: emergency aid rushed to shelter partners operating amid the war

- 7 vets, 36 responders staffed IFAW's animal care tent for refugees with pets

- 42,000 animals helped in the first 100 days

Check out the charity's website at the silver link above!

If this charity speaks to you, please feel free to share it on social media, ATRL, or with anyone you know who might be able to support! If you have the means to contribute to the IFAW's Ukraine Emergency Grant, donations are always appreciated!

@rl231To you... the best coach. I honestly think when it comes to taking someone to the next level, you are absolutely the best coach. You didn';t just cheer me on, you gave me so many important tips and tricks I would have never known about had I not been under you. Each round, you took time out of your incredibly hectic schedule to give our flop lil team a fighting chance. This is a GRUELING game, and I probably would have accepted a lower-ranked fate had I not been under you, specifically. Not any other coach, but you. your words "you don't have to be the best, you just have to not be the worst" rang so true for me in the rounds, especially during that 24 hours challenge which I will never experience again x

I'm so glad you picked me and kept the energy up up up! you da bestest

I just saw this since I've been off ATRL for an eternity, but you're the best!! I'm so glad that you played and that you really tried your damnedest to succeed. You smashed it!!!

"you don't have to be the best, you just have to not be the worst" - also what an adage for all people lol

What an amazingly generous host you are, @Element. :heart2:

I wanted to give it a few days to let everyone appreciate your generosity, but I promised in my Charity Scavenger Hunt (click here for details if you missed it) that I would donate $50 AUD to the winning team's charity should Element find the spoon I had hidden before the next round. Element did just that (albeit with a little help :fan:) and so I've donated $50 AUD to Team Staryu's charity, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (Australia's Version) (From The Vault). :duck:

Receipt of Donation:

Additionally, seeing as @shelven also managed to find Element's spoon during my Charity Scavenger Hunt (again, with a little help :fan:), in order to thank him and my amazing fellow Shelvenizers for being such an amazing group of players who made the entire Let's Spoon 14 experience so much fun and absolutely worth every painful moment, sleepless night, and stressful workday, I'd also like to donate $50 AUD to our charity, the Save the Music Foundation. :jamming: #TeamShelven

I know it's not much, but I hope this helps in some way (and that I didn't accidentally dox myself in the process :skull:). I hope you're all doing well... while it's been a relief to have Spoon out of my life, it's also left a void in a strange way.
