This will have somewhat better legs due to the good reception and great word of mouth, I am feeling somewhere between 640 - 685m for this. Reaching much more than 300m domestic will be a big ask with this opening and the incoming rush of summer films.

I'm a GOTG hater, despised the first two movies for being so ******* dumb (the thing MCU stans accuse Love and Thunder), but this was... wow. Literally one of the best MCU entries. Jokes, tears, drama, dark and tons of nostalgia. Feel like this is truly the first Marvel characters that are getting an actual proper conclusion and goodbye (that's not Endgame).

Really loved it.

Also

Spoiler

Kinda hate that my girl Elizabeth was wasted like that in the MCU. :skull: 3 lines and dead.

While I loved Cosmo, my girl Maria should've had her actual face gracing the screen in another character if she was going to be in the MCU. :skull:

That Rocket scene when he tried to murder the High Evolutionary was one of the darkest scenes in the MCU, not even Raimi in MoM... particularly for the Guardians tone.

Loved Adam Warlock and I think that it was a very good introduction for his character, hope to see more of him in the MCU...

And while I hate Chris Pratt, he was very good in this film and he looked hot as ****. Sad there were no shirtless scene as in the past ones, but at least we got like 3 from Will Poulter, so I'm not complaining. :keir:

OS performed nicely. Fast X is coming in a week and a half so this needs to gobble up as much money as possible before then. Even though it is gonna flop domestically, Fast franchise is still a juggernaut OS.

Then Little Mermaid, then the summer bloodbath. First two weeks will be critical for GOTG3 if it wants a chance at $750-800M.

I cried, many times. It was the best Marvel movie/show since the last Spider-Man movie. It was honestly so moving.

It was fantastic! :clap3:

Word of Mouth and Reception so far is also positive:clap3:

Also fun fact, the Couple next to me in my 2nd Dolby theater viewing said they are gonna go see The Marvels:msmarvel:Cosmic Marvel ain’t over

Another win for Marvel

The movie is great, Rocket's storyline is chef's kiss.  I wasn't expecting to cry as much as I did watching.

Vol.3 is easily the best one.

$9-9.5M Monday

I would like to keep in mind that of all the future MCU projects, this definitely seems like the surest bet on success. I wouldn't hedge the futures of the MCU based on whatever this film does tbh. I feel like this film's success may exist in a bit of a vacuum.

Agreed. Other than Spider-Man and The Avengers, the rest of the MCU franchises definitely aren’t on solid ground,

Guardians films have heart and an actual creative who pushes for them to be something other than endless tie ins. I wish they took a break and made Vol.3 one of the first films released post Endgame, it could have done much much bigger numbers.

*the genre

The Flush and Spider-Verse 2 better be great. I don't want to go back to the Black Adam-Shazam2-Quantumania days

This horrors :rip: no one does sis.

The industry praise for the flash is pretty much insane. I feel like at least critically its gonna do well.

And Reddit users were questioning if it would even gross $600M. :deadbanana2:
