Stepfon
Watch out for this one. Eddie Redmayne stars alongside Jessica Chastain in the upcoming Netflix-distributed film “The Good Nurse.” A sure bet premiere for this coming September’s Toronto International Film Festival. And don’t let the title mislead you, this is the story of real-life criminal Charlie Cullen (Eddie Redmayne), the “good” nurse of the title. Cullen, was actually known as the “Angel of Death,” and regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history. He was allegedly responsible for the deaths of almost 300 of his patients over a 15-year time span. Jessica Chastain plays Cullen’s co-worker at the hospital, and fellow nurse who started to suspect Cullen’s nefarious ways. Here’s a reaction from a New Jersey test-screening: Quote Hey Jordan, I was at The Good Nurse test screening in New Jersey and I think this could be a huge award contender in the fall. I noticed the audience was really captivated and into this. It's tense, scary, yes, but director Tobias Lindholm's storytelling is also restrained, elegant, and completely controlled. It never felt dull for a second. The cinematography by Jody Lee Lipes is superb and the the performances are spot-on. Eddie Redmayne gives his best performance since Theory of Everything and Chastain has never been better. I really think people are sleeping on this movie's potential Director Lindholm is making his English-language debut with the film. Lindholm is the filmmaker behind the Oscar-nominated 2015 film “A War.” He also helmed 2012’s underrated “A Hijacking.” The script was written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who was nominated for an Oscar for her screenplay on “1917.” https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2022/6/p46efpnpthx35zhy929hywa1lo7xye

ALittleGauche
Glad Redmayne is still getting these Oscar baity gigs after his involvement with Fantastic Beasts. I’m seeing Cha Cha Real Smooth next week at TIFF Lightbox starring Dakota Johnson which won the Sundance Audience Award (same one CODA won last year). McNulty
Succession and Severance are being smart with their submissions, This is Us somehow **** the bed by not submitting "The Train" for writing and submitting Milo Ventimiglia as a lead. smh Killing Eve producers boldly submitted the series finale for best writing
LastKiss
I have a question related to the Emmys. If they are creating this new ceremony for children and family programming What are the Daytime Emmy's going to award? Day talk shows and soap operas only? Also yeah, This Is Us submissions overall are a mess and a half, Fogelman burying his chances like that, damn

His role became smaller after the second season and the voters clearly like SKB's acting over him. I kinda wished his screen time this season to decrease more so they could have sneaked him in the Guest category Fogelman not picking his safest bet with "The Train" is beyond dumb, he needs a miracle atm
