not zac's lowest either

we could see two doubleheaders of former teen heartthrobs fighting it out for the razzie:

Harry with policeman/darling

vs. Zac with firestarter/beer

Whitney biopic doesn't really look exciting, but I think the Academy will love it. Naomi might still snatch :gaycat6:

Whitney's biopic looks basic, but I think audiences will love it. It will do well at box office. Giving me 'Harriet' tea. I think Ackie will get nominated because sometimes AMPAS love basic biopic.

I feel like I could put $$ on this being the Actress 5...

Michelle Yeoh, Everything Everywhere All At Once

Cate Blanchett, Tár

Viola Davis, The Woman King

Margot Robbie, Babylon

Naomi Ackie, I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Davis needs that box office smash to get nominated.

I think we are underestimating She Said and Women Talking.

One of the leads from those movies will get nominated.

I love Margot but that Babylon flick looks so repulsive.

I really really hope Angela Basset becomes the first MCU actor to be nominated for acting in the BSA. I need my melanin Queen to be adorned with a golden statuette

Right now, for Best Actress, I’m predicting:

Blanchett, Tár

Yeoh, Everything Everywhere All At Once

Robbie, Babylon

Ackie, I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Colman, Empire of Light

I love both Blanchett and Yeoh so I would be so thrilled if either of them won. I agree Colman is getting her annual nom, the Academy isn’t showing any signs of loving her less and even though the film has meh reviews it sounds like an actress showcase

Imo SS is gonna be another flop bait that goes nowhere, maybe adapted screenplay because of how dead that category is.

WT could totally get double-nominated in Supporting Actress tho :gaycat:

Who is the lead in Women Talking? McDormand or Mara?

I don’t see She Said or Women Talking getting any actresses in lead this year tbh. I’d put money on WT getting both Claire Foy and Jessie Buckley in Supporting though.

The audience score for Blonde on RT is 15% rn :deadbanana4:

Unless a miracle happens, safe to say that Ana is out of the race.

Neither. Just saw this movie with the director in the theatre. Everyone has equal parts. Frances McDormand has maybe one line and two short scenes.

Rooney, Jessie, and Claire all have equal chances of being nominated for BSA. Rooney has the least showy role. Claire has a monologue that I could see being enough to have her be considered. Jessie was a force all throughout.

This is winning Best Adapted Screenplay, hands down, 100%.

I also saw Glass Onion yesterday and that pales so much in comparison with the first one. It’s not getting nominated for anything. The plot was ridiculous and the cast were all caricatures.

One or both of Broker (Koreeda) and Decision to Leave (Chan-Wook) will be nominated for Best Picture. Book it.

in the last 30 years, actress nominees where they were solo leads, IMDB 8+:

Black Swan - SWEEP

Three Billboards - SWEEP

Viola RISES.

The Woman King:

Solid opening ($18M)

A+ CinemaScore

94% on RT / 99% Audience Score

It's being review-bombed on IMDb. Incels are a cancer.

EDIT:

The new Billy Eichner movie (92% on RT) is being review-bombed too and it's not even out yet. IMDb should only allows ratings after a movie is released...
