According to the various athletic bodies a woman must have no more than "x" amount of testosterone level, seems fine except this limit varies from sport to sport (so what qualifies as a woman in one sport may not in another). This is problematic. Clearly there is some cherry picking going on. Some Eurocentric standard being applied. Therefore even invoking "science" is a misplaced argument in this debate, since science has not gotten rid of its sexist / racist tinged past research (making the average white woman and her hormone level a universal standard that should represent global womanhood)

I don’t think Brianna is enough for the show. I’m not too familiar with what all she’s done since the Bernie campaign. I know she had that podcast where she interviewed Noam Chomsky. She’d probably be better off doing her own show honestly. Rising is a sinking ship if you’re remotely on the left.

She has podcasts of her own. Bad Faith with Virgil Texas being one of them. She also does The DEBRIEF on Callin. She doesn't get that many views, however, cause much of the Left has moved on from Bernie Sanders and by extension her as well. In general there's not much of a market for left media, and the left as a whole is completely disorganized and broken now. The best you're gonna get are livestreamers like Hasan and Vaush, because nobody else has anywhere near the presence. Jimmy Dore is a crackpot joke, TYT is a failing enterprise, and The Intercept is barely distinguishable from MSNBC now that Greenwald has left.

 

Even Rising has fallen off in viewership due to not having any hosts that appeal to MAGA Republicans, especially since Kim Iversen's departure (hilariously enough), but they still have higher views due to being tied to a mainstream outlet at The Hill. I agree it's a sinking ship for the left, but... it's somewhat on the surface at least, while the overall left has sunken to the bottom of the ocean since the end of the Bernie campaign, imo.

I like Briahna in almost everything she does and her defense of student loan forgiveness on Rising has been a very needed voice on the matter.

 

Bad Faith has been the stage of many great conversations and it's a shame the podcast is not more popular. 

 

She may a little hard-headed sometimes during debates on Bad Faith, but otherwise she's a good moderator and always manages to dominate the scene. 

 

This recent Rising was amazing and the way she set Robbie straight on his gaslighting was perfect:

 

"It's a tax base that's being paid into by the same people who are benefiting from it."

And tbh, I think she would be helped more if she dropped Virgil Texas from the branding altogether, or even just completely rebranded with a different name. Cause uh... his association with anything is going to be toxic so I have no idea why she's even continuing it when he hasn't even been seen on the internet since... June 8 of last year when the allegations against him surfaced.

 

But it's a problem with the online left in video platforms in general. Even with the success that OG Rising and Breaking Points have had, Krystal Ball frankly needs her fascist cohost to have any success because there wouldn't be any market for Breaking Points otherwise. Especially when you look at the comments section under their videos and you look at the poll results under their community tab. BARELY any leftist representation in either in my experience.

Criticizing Virgil being part of the branding seems a bit silly, tbh. The actual issue is a lack of transparency about their contract and if he's still benefiting from the revenue sources of the podcast (and how) despite her effectively deplatforming him from it. She's a lawyer. She's likely following some contract they had that's stopping her from removing him from the branding. I don't think anyone even associates Virgil Texas with it as a podcast at this point.
