I finally saw this yesterday. What a beautiful movie, both visually and storytelling-wise. I cried so much at all the family moments. I love their bond, and it made me want to give all my siblings and mom a big hug.

Wish someone wrote down the names of those that said this wouldn't pass 2 billi

I also remember a few saying it wouldn't cross the 1 billi mark :swan:

2.2B certain at this point. 2.3B will be determined by how impactful the lack of premium screens affects it

The fact that it would easily gross >2.6B if it weren't for COVID in China :jonny5:

7th weekend domestic actuals up nearly $300K to a just a hair under $16M ($15.97M). A brilliant -21% hold. 3rd biggest 7th weekend of all-time. Weekdays this week will have tiny drops from last week.

8th weekend looking like a low end of $10M and high end of $13M, all depends on how hard Knock at the Cabin hits it when it steals Dolby PLF screens.

$635-638M domestic by Sunday.

I think final #s will be 660M domestic, 2.4B global. Insane.

Just got out of the theater! I enjoyed the film thoroughly. I can definitely understand where some of the criticism comes from, and there are elements of the story I felt were a little underbaked. That being said, it truly is a marvel to look at, absolutely gorgeous, and I was moved throughout the film :jamming:

Can we just acknowledge how INSANE it is for a film to be doing near $8M on its 7th Saturday?!?!

What an incredible run. It doesn't even seem like there was much of a holiday tumble. It just fell naturally, and very lightly, at that. Nothing worse than a -39% weekend fall since the holidays.

The best box office weekends of all-time, per weekend. Avatar 2's weekends below.

Wknd 1- #37

Wknd 2- #30

Wknd 3- #3

Wknd 4- #2

Wknd 5- #2

Wknd 6- #5

Wknd 7- #3

Brilliant run.

how long will this stay in theatres? I still want to go see it, but not in a rush.

For a while. But it will lose all IMAX screens and other premium formats in the next two to three weeks and just be on regular screens from then on. If you want to catch it in IMAX I suggest going this or next week before Thursday!

definitely see it in 3d while you can.  It's like being in a video game.
