Relampago. Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 I don’t get what this was about. I liked most of it, but the climax was… weird. Not really my jush I guess. The Angel guy was hot though.

The monkey was exploited for the TV show, Jupe exploited that event for money, the Haywood’s exploit the horses for Hollywood, the “UFO” is exploited for fame and fortune and so on.
Desire Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 This was pretty good and the overall theme was very clear from the get go imo. Did y’all not ready the Bible verse at the start? so much better than Us too.
Sharapov Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 it was really good!! people who find this boring are probably brainwashed by marvel's kiddy movies! the Jupiter Claim scene was sooo creepy. and the gordy one too. keke was amazing. daniel seems like a one trick pony, he has no range. and yes, brandon perea is SO hot in this movie, but he doesnt look nearly as good with dark hair
Nashe Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 This was everything! Jordan's truly 3/3 with this Daniel is amazing, but Keke.....goddamn, what an icon she already is yet her big career has only just begun! I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the movie!! Jordan Peele, you'll be famous forever!!
ConceptD Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 I just saw it. Keke and Brandon did great. I liked it at parts, but overall it fell really flat for me and left me wanting something else. I wasn’t impressed with the ending and what things actually turned out to be at all. I want a true, real movie in this genre that actually explores alien invasions and whatnot. The closest we have is Independence Day or Signs and neither are really great either. It’s such an untapped market and you’d think there’d be a million films like it, but you always end up with things like this or Arrival that don’t really show much and get acclaim anyways
Hurem Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 First 30 minutes were incredibly boring. My friend fell asleep and I was barely holding myself together It got more interesting after that, but I’m still not sure what the movie was about. Cowboy hat looking monster was fun, but I wish there was a better explanation at the end. Also, what was the point of the whole Gordy show?

Arrival is amazing
Life Savers Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Keke was amazing, but this was really flat overall. They rarely raised the stakes and once they finally did... it ended.
Mellark Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 It was a great movie. I just watched it last night. Keke slayed. On 7/25/2022 at 1:07 PM, Ichinaru19 said: https://www.instagram.com/p/B6MND1tl7CZ/ Dadddy

kandicha Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I saw this this weekend, I loved it! Keke and Brandon, especially, were so good. The scenes with Gordy and with what happened at Jupiter Claim were so creepy and hair-raising and the scene inside the barn really scared me too. I actually liked this better than Get Out and Us - Get Out and Us were more entertaining but also more all over the place while Nope just felt more focused and better made.
ucanfma Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 this moive was such an experience I have never seen anything like that I really like this director
Specter Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Get Out was like a 7.5-8/10 for me. Us was 9/10, period. Excited to watch this and see if it'll do something for me!
Boysdontcry Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 (edited) The main story plot was alright. I found it a little bit anti-climatic & tedious. Spoiler But I was however completely fascinated by the Gordy chimp side plot, the scene of him killing the actors was so horrifying. And after watching a couple YouTube videos I have come to learn that Gordy is based on a real chimp (Travis) that brutally disfigured a woman (Charla). They even pay homage to the face covering Charla wore in her Oprah interview. The real story has given me chills. Whilst I don't understand the deeper meaning by including this sub-plot in the film, it was fascinating & more interesting than the main plot in my opinion. (Also, Angel is so hot oh my...)
