Uncatena Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I’m gonna assume that the person who wrote the summary just did a bad job at it because it sounds incomplete and kind of… boring? im still excited to see it and how it’s executed but I was kind of hoping for a bit more. All this mystery for… that? Hmmm…

I liked the first half of Us for sure. The second half just went off the rails for me. I kind of feel like Jordan Peele might have the Ryan Murphy syndrome where the first half is super well developed, but it all falls apart as the story progresses. Without giving too much away, the trailer gives away literally all of the surprises. The plot is very basic "aliens visit a small town." And there's a weird flashback subplot about a murderous monkey? (That's the shot in the trailer of the bloody fist bump and the kid.) As a whole, it just felt like the movie wasn't trying to do anything new or remotely interesting. Hopefully the acting and production design will help. Edited June 7, 2022 by SaintWest
ConceptD Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 After reading the leaks I have to say I’m concerned. I was so excited for this. I hope it’s a bad description.

I partially read the leaked plot and it feels... Spoiler Incomplete? Maybe the test screening wasn't the final product because I would be extremely shocked that such a brilliant mind like Jordan released something so...basic. Basically, the trailer doesn't give you too much because there's no much happening.
Admiringamor Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Yeah the leaks have me more worried ? I feel like this is gonna get pushed pack tho

I just know the GP is gonna have a meltdown over this movie when it comes out. I just hope Keke goes unscathed. She's too talented and I was hoping NOPE was gonna help her stay booked and busy. :(
X~MoviePoP Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 The leaks make no sense. I feel like jordan would have lots of hidden meanings behind this film and didnt want to show the whole thing during the screening

I hope the same about Keke, she's the star of the movie (while I love Daniel, he's too serious and has already gotten prestigious thanks to Get Out, Judas and his Academy Award). 22 minutes ago, X~MoviePoP said: The leaks make no sense. That would be a brilliant move from Jordan (although it doesn't make sense to make a test screening not showing the whole movie, but the movie marketing has played with the mystery about the movie plot so, who knows).
Roberto Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 The newest clips. First one is a behind the scenes, the other ones are short mini trailers.
X~MoviePoP Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Now why tf would they give away the space ship at the end of the trailer. Smh Really makes me wonder tf jordan is thinking
Roberto Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) ****! The new trailer gives a lot of information. This is gonna be so messy, but I'm honestly living for it. If it's not a masterpiece like Get Out or Us, it will sure be entertained as hell. Edited June 9, 2022 by Roberto
stjosephprey4us Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 The second trailer literally completely killed all my hype lol, and I didn’t read any of the spoilers. Perhaps Us really was Peele’s jump the shark moment… at least the bottom in this is hot
Bimbo Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 The people that treat JP as an otherworldly genius are so cringe maybe this is just a silly alien movie and that's okay
X~MoviePoP Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 The marketing team are idiots. Who reveals the twists in the trailer
Roberto Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Maybe the biggest twists are Spoiler * The reason why the aliens are visiting the town. There must be a reason. * The aliens theirselves? I agree the spaceship should have been hidden until the movie release (they could even have showed the adbuction scene because you can't see the spaceship too much). Anyway, I'm still excited about it. This will probably be more a funny movie than a masterpiece with deep meaning
DoctorIce Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Why are people blaming Jordan Peele for the trailer? He doesn't control that. The alien angle was obvious from the first trailer anyway. I'm guessing the commentary this time is geared towards immigration? IDK, haven't read the spoilers.
Don Corleone Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 The tone of the trailer is all over the place. The beginning is creepy and mysterious and then, suddenly, it's a wacky comedy Still want to see it though

Roberto Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Less than 3 weeks to its debut. Sadly, it will be released on August, 25 in my country so I still have to wait a little bit more.
