The parallelism between the two stories is cool, but I wished that at some point the two would merge in a more climactic way, its almost as if the thriller paste of the first two acts get lost into a simple western/alien hunt sequence at the end. I had high expectations given the psyco ending of Get Out. Yeah. I enjoyed both plot lines, but it didn't really have the thrill of the 2nd act of Us or finale of Get Out. The twist was interesting I guess but I don't think it was well enough visualized.

Spoiler It's literally the reason why Jupe thought he could tame JJ, since the monkey didn't hurt him, unlike the other members of the sitcom. I know it was kinda weird but I think it served its purpose and we been knew Jordan likes to play with those tricks. Edited September 8, 2022 by Roberto
BeachRat Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 finally watched last night, it was so so so good. i loved the subtle uneasy feeling going through the whole movie. it's definitely a 3/3 for Jordan for me. and i believe 10 years on in his career it will be a cult classic. the visuals where STUNNING, wish i went to the cinema to see it even tho i have a huge tv.

enchanted0 Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Finally watched it and wow I didn't expected to like it this much since I didn't like Us at all. It was CINEMA indeed very bold yet sophisticated, there were so many cool shots My only complaint was There was zero suspense when Jean Jacket was first appeared. The characters were acting so serious but I felt literally nothing, was actually kinda bored.

As interesting as the Gordy scenes were on their own, it made the film feel very disjointed. Jupe wasn't a significant enough character to have that much backstory.

Roman Holiday Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 People are really dumb. The social commentary was literally right in your face but people are confused?? Gordy’s subplot was about the cyclical nature of exploitation and how Jupe felt like he had a divine purpose to capture the alien.
Roman Holiday Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 A+ movie. Get Out > No. 1 pe >>> US bubbling under

I watched it a 2nd time yesterday (I found it even better than my first time since the shock factor left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Jordan is just...no words ) and yes, before getting eaten, Jupe says clearly: "You are the chosen one"...he really thought. Edited September 15, 2022 by Roberto
Losing my ground Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 This was one of the worst films I have ever seen. I regret so much wasting 2 hours on this, should have at least sleep through it but I kept waiting for something logical or meaningful to happen - well it didn't.

The movie is completely logical, the plot probably went over your head.
ahzark97 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Great concept, great execution. Jordan Peele did it again

Konril Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Finally saw it. Personally, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts especially the 1st half hour were it was kinda slow but then the build-up towards the climax and the end were beautiful. Peele is 3/3 for me, just like Ari Aster is 2/2.
